Excellent idea, freeing up the Logistics slot for another skill. I too take Logistics all the time because not only does it give you more movement, it gives your hero greater flexibility in reaching spots on the map and is useful in catching fleeing heroes.

Instant Travel - Useless?

I wonder if this spell has become useless/obsolete/a laughingstock. First of all, most maps disable this to prevent bugs caused by the AI, or to prevent the player bypassing certain important garrisons. Secondly, if it is available, it uses up half your movement points and moves a ridiculously small...

I think Necropolis and Inferno both don't have retribution for the same reason: they can have massive amounts of units. Necro has necromancy, inferno has gating. I don't think giving these two zerg factions retribution would be a good idea. Light magic/Retribution would be awesome for Inferno. Thei...

You don't often face 30 spellpower necros do you. It's basically an armageddon tha doesn't hit undead and damage is pretty decent. Throw in sorcery and it's a potential game winner provided the game is not too long. Not uncommon to face a 400+ dmg CotN in ToTE... in vanilla HV the spell rarely appr...

I LOVE hydras ... when they're neutral stacks guarding mines. For the experience you get from them, they must be among the easiest creatures to fight. In the hands of human players though, they might be much more dangerous. I second that. It's also easy to block their way with 1-unit stacks and pin...

you'll see that Succubi are very underpowered  They are tough as a neutral sometimes but they are not influential in the inferno army in a final fight. Their chain shot ability makes coming out of a fight without any casualties hard. I usually only fight them when I can overcome them with jus...

Snatch is not that great, because you use the secondary to pick up resources, flag mines, etc... It is very important only when there's a map with Sea Traveling, because it allows you to load and unload in the ship without wasting a full day . And Swift Mind is very powerful, the first action of th...

@ Kiowa Heh, yes Druids, and those Fortress's Rune Keepers :S Hmm, my preffered faction is Inferno ... so that is a problem I like Dungeon, I guess I'll use them more Inferno is hard to creep early with - don't worry, it's not just you. Early on, Gating is just too slow and too few units. Oh yeah, ...

Hmm, I do have money to build dwellings, but mainly because I play with Dungeon which is not a "might" faction and doesn't need many troops to clear out neutrals (only Furies and Stalkers), the others I just let them "grow" in my castle :D I don't know if Haven has enough money ...

Only that I also like to hire a third hero in week 2 day 1 to handle some traveling from the town to the main hero, etc. I'd always thought if I did that I'd run out of gold too fast to keep building creature dwellings... but perhaps I should try that in future games. I've been noticing recently go...

Early on in the game though, 1-unit stacks of master hunters are great at killing the initiative of your enemies, while your main stack wipes the floor with them.

It's not a very good ability. I mean, Basic Logistics gives you 250 Movement Points per day, and Warpath 350 per battle. Only if you fight daily Warpath is better than Logistics itself, but once the neutrals are wiped it becomes obsolete. Not to mention it's an ability and abilities are somewhat be...

It does bear some resemblance to the Tree of Eternity in Warcraft 3... which got ripped off from the Norweigan mythical tree, Yggdrasil.

Personally I think the idea is a tad over-done.

Terrible! Now I see why that could be abused... At the very least the fireball should affect friendly units too. A 'smart' fireball... even modern precision weapons aren't that accurate ;)

Hire a second hero on the first day (build a tavern if it isn't already up) and give his/her army to your primary hero. Your primary hero should do the fighting while your secondary follows behind and flags mines, picks up stuff, etc. Pick fights only with melee neutrals, preferably slow walkers lik...

My advice is to patch right up to 1.6, and then restart the mission. Real bummer I know :S The hero must have the phoenixes on him (you'll probably be using Findan) when he kills Nicolai.

Giving up the death cloud from archliches can be painful, though - imagine 5 small-sized stacks bunched together, with the first aid tent and ammo cart behind, and I chose the lich masters. DOH.
