I am most curious about how it will fit into the existing lore. I hope they manage to do it properly.
The art style is also something I am not that fond of, but as long as the game is good then I can live with it.

Re: Escaton and the destruction of Enroth
Yes, I just feel like all these little things add to make sense. Of course, something making sense does not equal to it being true. And I have not seen any proper evidence pointing at this idea. Escaton's message is still the thing that got me thinking about it this way. Would be interesting to see ...

Escaton and the destruction of Enroth
Note that what follows is pure speculation based off a few things in the games. There is nothing in the games so verify my speculations. In the last year I did another full playthrough of all NWC Might and Magic + Heroes, I do that occasionally. This time I kind of got hung up on Escaton's final mes...

Linux guides
I figured I would post this here, in case it would interest anyone using Linux or considering it. I contribute to a website called Gamers on Linux and currently we have guides for installing Heroes 1-4, including Chronicles, and Might and Magic 1-6. I will be posting a Might and Magic 7 guide as wel...

I don't know how that version handles the music. If the music plays from the game cd, then I am not sure how to change it without having the disc with the other tracks. However, if the game uses a cue file for directing to the music in a directory, then you could simply replace the sound files manua...

I had random crashes in Heroes 3. Some people on the gog forums suggested a piece of software that will let you set permanent core affinity for programs. The software is the same one Bersaglio mentions and it worked great for me. I want to mention that I played through the gog version campaigns and ...

I don't really see the point in attempting to discuss with someone who makes a distinction between different types of Kreegan. There are a race of creatures called demons, these are seen in MM1-5. And I also believe the demons in Conquest of the Underworld are different creatures completely unrelate...

In the MM world, science and magic are one in the same. It was like that since the beginning of the series. I have also always had the understanding that the technology of the ancients, while of course being very advanced technology, also incorporates magic in some way. In a world where magic exist...

Doesn't the Tomb of VARN have blasters as well? The control center, on the other hand, is completely optional. It gives blaster rifles and that only makes the player's killing more efficient. Actually, in MM6 you don't find blasters in the Tomb of VARN. At the very end of the dungeon you do encount...

There are no voices for npc's in Might and Magic VII. When you talk to an npc wandering around, the active player character often speaks a greeting aloud. You can notice the difference if you select one of your female characters before talking to an npc. You should then hear the voice of your female...

Glad to see the project taking on a structured approach now. I read over the full post on your own fourms and I have to say that I am impressed. If you want some feedback on your ideas from a grumpy fan of the series, I would personally prefer no connection between the original universe and Ubisoft'...

My reply is based purely on assumptions, but does the other version you mention require to read from the disc while playing? It could be that not all data files are installed and are read from the disc. The GOG version (naturally enough) does not read from any disc since the install includes everyth...

Now you have to navigate to where the mm2 executable is located, which would be wherever you installed it. In may case, I would have to type cd\games\mm\mm2 Just change all the above with the path to your Might and Magic 2 folder, except for the 'cd' at the beginning as that is the dos command for c...

It should be able to run in dosbox since the gog version is bundled with dosbox and runs perfectly. After some checking around I can't see anyone encountering issues with the game in dosbox. How familiar are you with the emulator? When I first downloaded dosbox (I think that was back in the 0.63 ver...

I played the GOG version of MM1 which comes with a cluebook containing maps along with many other useful hints. In addition, I also found a faq on gamefaqs which I relied on quite a lot. I voted for dwarves because in my opinion, you GOT to have dwarves. I really consider them to be a stock race for anything fantasy related so I really had no choice but to give them my vote. Besides, I envy them their beards, mine is nowhere near as long, haha. As for other races, I have to say that...

WEll let us know if the visual are as good as Crysis 1 when you do... In my opinion, Crysis 1 got better visuals when all settings are on max. However, Crysis 2 is much more lenient of your hardware.
