In MM6 you can get melee recovery time down to 27. I've done it with sword and spear combos. Since bow skill doesn't reduce recovery time I don't know if you can get recovery down to 5. You actually don't need paralyze for the red dragons. If you have GM light which you can get pretty early in the game you can just cast the three buff spells and melee them to death. In Maestro mod the Paladin and Druid classes are a little bit better. Druid can GM water. Paladin fight as well as knight and can GM merchant and cast cleric spells. Archer class is a little worse.
