I just finished MM8 for the second time(Troll/Mino/Cleric all around level 150, after 11 years, score ~3000) and want another round of MM6 now. I've started with 3 Knights and 1 Cleric.
Now I'm contemplating whether I should use spears, swords or daggers or a combination thereof. I want them to eventually attack as fast as possible. Daggers are 30 points quicker than swords but does it matter in the end, with light magic and a high weapon skill?
Will I be able to reach the maximum attack speed anyway, no matter which weapon(s) I use, just a little later with the slower ones?
So what is the recovery time cap with GrayFace's MM6 patch? Is it 30 for melee and 5 for ranged, like in MM8?
Thanks.
MM6: What's the recovery cap with GrayFace's patch?
Re: MM6: What's the recovery cap with GrayFace's patch?
Yes, the limits are correct, but in MM6 'Increases recovery rate' enchantment takes the limits even further down. Note that ranged limit can be changed in ini, it's something like "BlasterRecovery".

What about spells, can you reduce the recovery time for spells further after you've reached master rank in a spell skill?
And what about haste and the speed statistic? Do they reduce the recovery time for spell casting as well or for weapons only?

Speed and Haste only work on weapons as far as I know (I remember testing this with Ressurrection, the spell with the slowest recovery time - there was no differense). Some spells say in the description that "skill reduces recovery time" and some spells say "expert: recovery time reduced". For the first, any skillpoints should reduce the recovery time but without knowing what cap it has or what recovery time it starts out with, or even how much recovery time is reduced it's kind of hard to determine how useful that is. For the latter, I reckon there's nothing you can do aside from increasing the skill rank.TheAnyKey wrote:What about spells, can you reduce the recovery time for spells further after you've reached master rank in a spell skill?

You'd think Darkmoor was a ghost town, but instead there's plenty of life among the dead.

Do I have to start a new game to activate the blaster recovery change? I changed it to "0" but the ranged recovery still doesn't go lower than 5 on my party.GrayFace wrote:Yes, the limits are correct, but in MM6 'Increases recovery rate' enchantment takes the limits even further down. Lol, I thought the same thing. Enroth is in dire need to be saved from impending destruction and the chosen heroes take 11 years to fulfill their task.MMXAlamar wrote:Wow! I don't believe I've ever made it past level 60 with my main character in MM8. 11 years? Goodbye Enrothall around level 150, after 11 years
Well, I suppose as long as the destruction waits with them there's not much harm done.
In MM6 you can get melee recovery time down to 27. I've done it with sword and spear combos. Since bow skill doesn't reduce recovery time I don't know if you can get recovery down to 5. I think with a swift bow you might be able to get it down to 30 but I never tried it out. Something you could do is start out with daggers and switch to sword and spear later in the game.
For MM8 if you do all the quests including bounty hunting and only clear each place once you can get to level 100 by the end of the game. The bounty hunting quest give like 2 million experience or so.

Solo Lich and Dragon reach level 200 in MM8.
No, it takes effect as soon as you change MM6.ini and restart the MM6.exe.TheAnyKey wrote:Do I have to start a new game to activate the blaster recovery change? I changed it to "0" but the ranged recovery still doesn't go lower than 5 on my party.
It does reduce recovery time.Naal wrote:Since bow skill doesn't reduce recovery time I don't know if you can get recovery down to 5.
