on the main heroes forum (ubi) there is a french chap who's extracted the maps for allied play into a pak file. We just need someone to stick the english files in. If someone can do that I'll host the file on my gaming groups web page (and I assume CH would pick it up too).

I don't have TOTE yet, but I'm guessing they didn't leave the maps as h5m files (did the same in HOF)... you'll probably have to hope someone can extract them into h5m files for you. It's not a simple process.

So, can people confirm the dwarves are available in TOTE as a playable faction in MP games? This is if you have it as a standalone...

when I hunted around in riva tuner, I couldn't see how to do it. I opted instead for no scaling - best image quality, even if it sits in a sea of black.

that's good news. Lack of widescreen support was a real downer once I got my new screen..

so multiplayer is only between like versions of the game? Not like relic's standalone's where the older ones get 'patched' up to play with the newer features?

DirectX 10, Securom and You

Interesting copy protection move by Ubi, considering that HOMM5 is primarily played offline - so no need to log in and verify your CD key etc etc. If they patch frequently (Gal Civ2 style) it can make it more tiresome for people to crack the exes, and more tiresome for users to bother getting the cr...

ok, so these special allied functions are inherent in the game, and not in the map? i.e. when I update my fave allied maps for TOTE, I won't have to tick the options somewhere in the depths of the map editor? Why add allied functionality and NOT make allied maps available with the release? sheesh. m...

Allied Maps in TOTE?

Tried posting on the official forums for an answer, but didn't get a lot of joy.

Can any of you here who have the expansion confirm whether it has allied MP maps out of the box, or will we have to modify the mp maps so that allied play is possible?

good info. It's hard to believe that they didn't program in widescreen support of some kind or other.. anything would have been better than letting the image stretch like they have done.

EA Gains Ground Over Ubisoft

They probably realise that EA is the devil, but a hostile takeover, isn't exactly friendly :)

Things might change at EA now that the gaming division has been split into ?3 groups.....

Staff Reduction at Nival

wow, the vitriol some people have for nival... quite amazing. How many of you still play the game? :) So many of you seem to think making a game is a walk in the park. You'll never see a bug free game on release, particularly if it is the first release (which H5 effectively is)... and if you can't d...

Staff Reduction at Nival

does anyone know what the sales figures for H5 were like? And how many here will buy TOTE and H6? That's how we can measure whether H5 is a success or not :) oh and don't forget. Vocal whiners on forums most likely do not represent the larger player base from which they are drawn. Is there a silent ...

try moving the ally.. I've noticed that if the 2nd player doesn't move, it doesn't pick up their map visibility for the ally.
