Long-time readers will probably remember Charles Watkins' Behind the Curtain column on Celestial Heavens, a collection of mapmaking tips and thoughts about the Heroes games. The fifth series, Over the Shoulder, was a diary where Charles provided details about the map he was working on, a map about the 12th Century Crusades. Today, after a little delay due to our map contest, we are proud to release the map, Lost Crusade, to the community.

The map is described as a "first shot at an 'alternate history' theme, which places the player in a semi-historical setting." It features lead characters based on real-life personalities and genuine medieval songs and poems. The recommended difficulty setting is advanced, unless you want to get in trouble near the endgame.
