If you want to try your mapmaking skills, but do not want to be restricted by any particular themes or map sizes, you may wish to participate in a Heroes IV map contest recently announced by the Equilibris mod developers. Participants will have access to an improved map editor shortly after the release of the upcoming Equilibris 3.6. Winners will have their maps included in the final version of Equilibris, which will be an add-on rather than a mod, as well as some material rewards.
