Here we have both Protection and Magical Immunity on the Crossbowmen, so unless the enemy has Irresistable Magic (which is doubtful since the enemy is a Necromancer) and the Hero possessed no artifacts to state otherwise, then this is a H5 Enhanced Ai 3.1j bug.
