Rogue Town?

Unread postby Bahototh » 11 Oct 2006, 18:17

What do you think on a Town based on Rogues, Bandits etc...?
Could also include Nomads, Merchants, Gladiator
kind of an "outlaw" town...

specialities could be stealth, pathfinding, poisons or the likes...

Thoughts? the problem is what to have for high level creatures...

And his special ability could be being rude and insane.

Rudeness lowers enemy morale...

and insanity puts him into berserker status, which also happens to make him ignorant. :devious:

This town type made me think of a mimic as being a neutral creature.

Might work under the condition that none of the units is human, elven or dwarven(gnomes, halflings and similar races are a moot point though).

Well Exiles is under a no-bring-back rule for dead characters, so even if a new Mimic shows up he just won't be the one i liked.

So, Gnome Gladiator, or Gnome Rogue?

A Gnome/Hobbit town would fit a rougueish theme IMHO.

I think that the barbarian town would fit very nicely with an outlaw town. At the lower levels, there would be creatures like rogues, nomads, and bandits. And at the higher level, there would be large, very powerful, might oriented creatures like Ogres, Cyclops, and Behemoth. No orcs and goblins.

I like the idea actually, a 'neutral' town that can have a wide variety. Could be exiled old races (naga, beholders, werewolves, ect) or something totally different, leaves a wide open field of choices. Could have the roc/thunderbird (with some extra oomph) as the tier 7, or something else also. Maybe even two seperate paths that a person could choose to do (ie 1 type of creatures or another type) but that would be harder :).
Warning, may cause confusion, blindness, raising of eybrows, and insanity. Image

The town is ok. I don't like the Dishonest Dragon dragon idea! I think it's a bad joke.

I would certainly like to see something new with more diverse creatures and less units of the unifying race in but even a nomad city of humans would be good. For those who have played Age of Wonders:Shadow Magic the nomads were pretty interesting because even though most units were humans it played quite different from the rest and was fun to use.I simply mention this as an example, not something I'd like to see as believe that a more interesting theme can be found.A rogue town would be fun but I'd be opposed to having a stealth skill like the H4 one and I believe that the dungeon theme is more about stealth even though it is not reflected in gameplay.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

behemoth healer. after attacking someone, he heals and resurrects everybody on the battlefield so the battle never ends.

peasant dragon. gives 1 gold every day and for every dragon it gives a seperate message "you just got 1 gold from a peasant dragon." every day. so 100 peasant dragons would give 700 messages a week.

I really don't want to hurt anybodies feelings, so I'm sorry if I did. I probably should have kept my big mouth shut. :S No hard feelings, huh?

And to add on to that ability, a peasant dragon gives an additional gold for each type of dragon in your army. So since there are going to be about 12 or 13 dragons by the time all expansion are released, the peasant dragon can be a real money-maker. And that would make thousands of messages per week to tell you how rich you are.
