My map is supposed to be "medium" size (136x136), so I figured it should show as "normal" size in the game, but the game says it's big.
Anyone knows how to get the game to say it's normal size ?
Also, I've read in the troubleshooting topic that scripts don't work at all in multiplayer, has it been confirmed ?
suggestion : since there's a lot of things we have to learn on our own with this editor (known bugs, getting certain things to work...), I think it'd be useful to create a sticky FAQ topic for H5 editor only.

No scripts in multiplayer maps
I can positively confirm that scripts are not allowed in multiplayer maps.

Re: No scripts in multiplayer maps
so why do think that the scripts have been disabled for multiplayer?Othmaar wrote:I can positively confirm that scripts are not allowed in multiplayer maps.
there was a discussion about this in another forum, one theory is network limitations of sending script info back and forth between computers, or something like that.
and the other theory was to prevent cheating.
what do you think?
i really hate that they disabled simple things like text messages. i cant think of any reason for not allowing those.
and if i make a map for me and my friend to play together, i cant put any scripts to make the map fun and give it personality.
if the concern is about cheating online, then they should just make scripts an option that can be disabled/enabled in the game creation screen.
Application design problem
From what I have gleaned by peeking inside the .pak files, and trying to make some scripts I think the problem is in the design/architecture.
A script has access to a lot of different resources, and each player can have virtually unlimited amounts of customized content spread across severa files. To introduce scripts to multiplayer at this point would be to invite a storm of complaints of "bugs". Whereas most of these problems would simply be that the mapscripts from one person would not find the resources it needs on another person's PC.
Before scripts can be used in multiplayer scenarios they have to be encapsulated in a multiplayer environment that ensures that all players have access to the same resources. All multiplayer scripts and their resources may have to be stored in its own designated .pak file or something, possibly with a size limitation so the host can send it quickly to all the players, where it will be stored in a corresponding temporary file for just that session.
Maybe ...![smile :)](/forums/images/smilies/smile9.gif)
Just my spur of the moment hypothesis.

I don't think it's only to prevent cheating, cause you can cheat in many other ways than just scripts (by just playing on a imbalanced map for example).
I guess the developpers didn't have enough time to implement it correctly in multiplayer...
Maybe they'll do something about it with the expansion. We should pressure them about it ;D
It's a shame we can't even use message boxes... signposts aren't a good replacement for them as they are now.
No one experienced the same problem as me about map size ? is 136x136 supposed to be marked as big ?
