True, titans originate from the mythology of a mediterranean culture, the Greeks. But they are commonly perceived as living in mountains.

Actually, most of the genuine greek Titans live in Tartarus (Hell) since they were banished there after Zeus' uprising. So they should be the Inferno tier 7 creature :-D

didnt they crawl out and get children and get killed by their children(the new pantheon with zeus and others)?

but inferno titans would really be strange.

And that relates to mountain tops how?!

And if you really care to be true to the original myth Titans shouldn't be neither huge, nor wield lightning. They should just be elemental gods.

See that's what most people don't get. Saying their head looked like that of a rooster didn't necesarly mean it had the head of a rooster, just that it resembled it.

And the Titans were put in Tartarus first by Uranus before Cronus cut of his jewels, and them by Cronus' children after they managed to overthrow them, so it's not like they're Hell creatures. Tartarus was just a jail for gods.

Also:
Tartarus, or Tartaros (from the Greek tartarizo, meaning "shivering cold")

This is the easiest town to pick out a favourite for. It's Heroes 3, no doubt about it. The Wizard town has to be located in a cold climate, that rules out H2 and H5. Besides, a town should be located on ground, not 3000 metres above the surface! :nervous: H3 is the best, and anyone who says anything else is stupid. :D

im stupid.

h5 looks more original, those cold towers of h3 would be almost like h5 necropol in 3d, only different color.

And H5 Academy is not so good as it can be, look at this picture and say, isn't it better:

still better than some tall white/blue towers, no?

as i said, necropolis in h5 already is with tall towers, so if academy would in h5 look just as in h3, it would be just a light version of necropol.

There's something about H2 that really evokes a fantasy and adventurous theme for me.

The highlights of the town that I like are the statue and the mage guild. I also really liked the natural setting of this town, especially the forest in the backround, and the steep valley with the small path that connects the halfling house to the marketplace. Though the cloud castle is bland, I do think it's interesting that a creature dwelling is as big as the entire town hall/castle.

There's just a certain charm about it that captivates me, and as usual, the H2 music themes are the cream of the crop. The music fits the town very nicely. And to top it off, the orchard that grew directly in front of the town, right next to the town name was a nice touch too.

H5 has a very nice arabic feel to it, but the fact that it's floating doesn't match with the rest of the town theme. A desert oriented landscape would have fit better, or at least they could have provided a reason or story plot to explain how the wizards made their town fly.

And also to actually reflect a flying town during a siege battle along with faction specific defenses that would be fit for a flying fortress. The music is excellent, but it seems out of place for the faction. Basically, I don't think their persona or creatures are ideal to have a flying castle. Now if they were a winged race on the other hand...

I voted for the HoMM V Academy. I think it may just be the best looking town in this latest game.

Other versions do have a lot of appeal as well, and mr. hackcrag especially put forth valid reasons for HoMM II.
