You know, dark doesn't mean having the contrast and brightness on low. Which is what Ubi/Nival seems to think.

I don't think H2 was dark, but the Necropolis and Warlock castle were darker then anything in H5.

I'm not sure if "cartoony" is the best word for H2 either. The creatures looks more like they were taken out of stained-glass windows or heraldric shields than from a cartoon. It has got more style than all the later games combined.

IMHO they looked drawn ingame. That's what the "cartoony" comment is about. Both of your examples are also drawn. And yes it does. Anyone know who made them?

About the warlock castle - yeah, I agree on this one... The swamp around the castle, the crypt, the black tower - they were all really cool, and some of the warlock's creatures were kinda creepy... :S
The necropolis, however - imo, it looked more like a parody about the undead, like some of those old vampire/zombie movies... (but nevertheless it worked for H2)
But I'm very fond of the necros of H5 - the vampire, the wight, the spectral dragon - this bunch looks just like they should imo....

Except for the green skin of vampires. They need to be pale.

yeah, I also think that the addition of green (and red) colours to the creatures of the necropolis (mainly the upgraded ones) is unnecessary.. some of the creatures look actually better unupgraded - for me, the best example of that is the wight.

All that green smoke on and about necro creatures in H5 seems quite laughable to me. Why would green smoke pour out of the jaws of a skeleton? Daft.

I like the Necropolis in H5. Sure it could be seen as cheesy, but the glows and smoke/fog effects serve to give the creatures an otherworldly appearance, rather than literally looking like walking bones or a floating robe. My favorite model in the game is actually the Wraith/Wight.

Looks like HV shouldve looked.
You seriously think so or are you just whining?

Hex-squares would have been nice in H5 though ;) Otherwise I´m extremely satisfied with H5 graphics.

I think most (not all, by far, but the overall style of it) of the creatures are ok, but I don't like the background\scenery :)

The looks of things is perhaps the point where people differ the most. So arguing over it is pretty hopeless ;)

I'm glad they are making a game simliar to a Heroes game. I like to think competition forces smart developers to spend more effort on creating the best game possible. It's an idealistic belief, but it would be nice to think that Nival, after seeing this game (assuming it's good), would rethink their approach to the series. I hate to admit it, but there was not enough innovation in Heroes 5 to keep me playing the game.

Have they said when the game may be coming out?
