Hmm, you should read the Fan Manual that comes with the game, it explains a lot of details. You'll find it in the "FanDocuments" folder, where you installed TotE.ywhtptgtfo wrote:I don't think Irresistible Magic does anything to bypass Magic Resistance (at least not according to the tool-tip).
Irresistible Magic works like following:
If the target has Magic Protection, it reduces it by an amount depending on mastery. For example, on expert, it will halve the protection. Someone with 50% Magic Protection will have only a 25% protection. Also, consider Magic Immunity (example: Black Dragons) as 100% protection. Therefore, on expert level, irresistible magic makes your spells do half their damage (50%) to otherwise magic-immune creatures.
As for resistance, it works exactly as having magic immunity, but only when it triggers (resistance, I mean)
Say, someone with 50% Magic Proof is attacked by a Warlock's spell, and resistance triggers! (doesn't matter the chance, we just suppose it triggers). The Warlock will first have to bypass the temporary immunity granted by magic resistance (with Expert Irresistible Magic), therefore his spell damage will be halved. Furthermore, the magic protection (50%) will impact Warlock's spell as well, but only a 25% decrease in damage, because Expert Irresistible Magic pierces this one as well.
