Hmm, you should read the Fan Manual that comes with the game, it explains a lot of details. You'll find it in the "FanDocuments" folder, where you installed TotE.

Irresistible Magic works like following:

If the target has Magic Protection, it reduces it by an amount depending on mastery. For example, on expert, it will halve the protection. Someone with 50% Magic Protection will have only a 25% protection. Also, consider Magic Immunity (example: Black Dragons) as 100% protection. Therefore, on expert level, irresistible magic makes your spells do half their damage (50%) to otherwise magic-immune creatures.

As for resistance, it works exactly as having magic immunity, but only when it triggers (resistance, I mean)

Say, someone with 50% Magic Proof is attacked by a Warlock's spell, and resistance triggers! (doesn't matter the chance, we just suppose it triggers). The Warlock will first have to bypass the temporary immunity granted by magic resistance (with Expert Irresistible Magic), therefore his spell damage will be halved. Furthermore, the magic protection (50%) will impact Warlock's spell as well, but only a 25% decrease in damage, because Expert Irresistible Magic pierces this one as well.

LOl, the wrost of all Duel Heroes is probably Anwen - She only needs to imbue with Slow, then Rain of Arrow, and your enemy will not act before her Hunters have finished them

Anwen is not nearly as ridiculous as Ossir. There are a couple ways to defeat her. The key is to quickly take out her hunters and dancers. Meteor Shower, Mass Slow/Haste, Mass Confusion, Frenzy, and Puppet Master are very useful for such purposes. Try Vittosio, Galib, or Sinitar.

Funny thing is, Deleb used to be the most overpowered Duel Hero before TotE, and now she is very weak. :D

I can imagine, though Ossir still rapes her. By the way, how was Deleb nerfed? I didn't play much of Heroes 5 until TotE.

Before TotE, Deleb in Duel had huge initiative because of some Ring of Speeds and some other artifacts, and because of morale her troops were acting most of the time. And there is of course her specialty that was very imba before TotE.

Agreed. That's Nival balance -> what is overpowered becomes underpowered. :D

Karli and Sinitar

Unread postby Gorbulas » 07 Dec 2010, 02:51

I've been trying many AI vs AI (15lvl heroes) autocombat duels and Ossir loses every time to Sinitar and Karli - as does everybody else. Sinitar crushes Ossir's tiny elves under he's empowered sh*t-rain before they can shoot. I would say Karli is the best duel hero though. He can only lose against Sinitar if the battle takes place on a ship or on Abyss I think. Karli has great attack and defence, bad ass skills (preparation, flaming arrows etc.) and very powerful army. and to make things unbalanced and Karli almost invinsible - the dwarven rune magic. It can make all the difference in the end game (and you don't have to worry about the lost resources in duel mode).

Am I just bad or are those custom presets totally broken balance wise? As if the official heroes weren't bad enough.... Some people online have really insane custom heroes.
