Here's a quote for ya:

In wine, there is Wisdom. In beer there, is Hope. In water, there is bacteria.

Why do all these made up quotes become attributed to Ben Franklin? The word "bacterium" was coined in 1828. Franklin died in 1790.

(But I like the quote anyway. :))

Aren't both wine and beer made with some sort of fermentation?!

Yeah, and they brewed beer in ancient Egypt. They know how to do it; doesn't mean they knew about the critters doing the job.

Fermentation in wine and beer is caused by yeast, not bacteria, which are two completely different organisms. [insert uneducated thundertitan joke here] I do casually ignore the fact that beer is made by essentially adding a fungus to it to produce alcohol.

Yeah, you don't like fungus, do you... Saying the word to your face is sorta like saying "Mufasa" in front of a hyena?

... fungus!

I went to sleep early, so I don't remember much either. :)

Now, back to alcohol. I'm using scotch as anti-flu medicine.

Well it will certainly make you feel better... as long as the scotch lasts.

Beer from a can is WAAAAAAAAAAY, better then from a plastic bottle. That'sthe conclusion i took after some "before school beers" got it from a plastic bottle first, but they don't sell them anymore so i had to pick up a can of beer ( imagine the face of someone scanning your beer at 9.30 ). Well the can is WAAAAAAAAAY better, so kids, DON'T DRINKE BEER FROM A PLASTIC BOTTLE!

Merlot is a grape, dude. Lots of wine brands use Merlot. I have several different Jacob's Creek; in this case I've been drinking the Merlot "version". *hup*
