H4: Fire ball and fire ring?
Is there any difference at all between these two level 3 spells?
If not, what's the point in having both?

Well Fire Ring doesn't hurt the creature in the middle. It good when you have 1 creature surounded and you don't want to hurt it with FB.

How so? There is a vital difference in killing the attackers around your stack of elves and killing the attackers and the stack of elves. It's all about what spell is the tactically the best in any given situation. Both those two have their use for sure.Metathron wrote:That aside, I still think the spells are way too similar.

I would kill the enmy units AND the elves. Those are useless anyways!Ethric wrote:How so? Fire Ring has more than one size, too. Try casting it on a small little imp or something similar in size. Not very big, is it? But try and cast it on a hydra, and it's much larger. Plus, IIRC, if you have a creature behind castle walls, it can be cast on it. So, if I'm right, Fire Ring has the ability to be cast behind walls in certain situations and Fireball has no chance... At least not on the ground level and the gate not being broken. But even if the gate is broken, you only get certain areas to cast fireball at still.
