Of course, this is coming from the ONLY person known to have EVER been kicked out of Deamon Fleet.
and I would love to know how you managed that! :D

LOL! Actually, just saying that I got kicked out and letting your imagination run wild is FAR more fun than the truth. (Which is frequently the case.)

This all happened back during the caveman days of internet connections - you know, like 15 years ago. This was before forums were the norm and everyone communicated through news groups. I had recently been elevated to the "Sisters of the Fallout" status at a convention in Kentucky. (That means that I wore one of those "Sisters of Durhas" costumes that was open from the neck to the waist and all the males kept waiting for 'something' to fall out.) As a 'Sistah', hubby and I were both given 'memberships' to Deamon Fleet and added to the Newsgroup. Everything was fine for awhile, except for this funkly glitch that was crossing up the Deamon Fleet news group with the Klingon Linguistics group.

Now, the Linguistics are a rather strange group. They get VERY 'into' speaking Klingon. These are the people who got into fights among themselves when they started translating the King James Bible because they didn't know if they should use literal word for word translations or go with cultural translations that Klingons would better understand... As in the "loaves and fishes" mirical. Klingons do not eat bread or fish. Literal translations would have been to "Grain based food" and "Aquatic life form", neither of which would have been understood as something anyone would want to eat. A cultural translation would have to be made to "Bloodroot" or other staple Klingon foods. - You get the idea - They are VERY picky!

Anyway, I was talking to people about costuming as Klingons at SciFi cons and for movie promotions, etc. Someone asked "Do you speak any Klingon?" I just gave my husband's normal joke of an answer and said "No. Why bother? Clearing your throat and a well placed cough will get you by." The Lingquistics people hit the frelling roof!!!

One of their big muckity mucks started sending me hate message on the newsgroup(s) that I was making racist remarks. I honestly thought he was joking (sort of the way Vel & Ethric do here). I replied that I didn't see HOW anyone could be offended by a 'Racist Joke' about a group of 'people' who do NOT exist. It sort of went down hill from there. He pulled 'rank' and I got kicked out. :disagree:

It's sort of like getting "Banned from Orion" - I also got a bunch of Filker's ticked off at me for changing the lyrics of "Banned from Argo" to "Orion" because my group of friends all thought being "Banned" from a planet that deals in the slave trade of their 'animalistic' females would be much funnier. But what do I know? Some people just get overly excited about people who have a bit of fun with THEIR pet obsession.

By sending you a hate message didn't you think he may be insulted for real?
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

My pet obsession? Hmm won't go there, but the new year drawls closer and I am still in this dungeon..I mean work cubicle..they even chained my ankle to the chair. Somebody get me out of here?! Seriously though it looks like it will be a good year despite everything. I got eggnog, and chocolate (mmmm chocolate) ready for the occasion (don't drink alcohol normally but going with my cousin to a bar...*ahem*) so here's to wishing good will toward women (ok I guess to the guys too) forgiving the past (even if you may not forget it) and both the Big Days near (Stefen's pending addition the more important of the two) a happy healthy addition to the Stefen household.

Stefen behave and don't tell them what the *ahem* is for...hehe. Later all.

Why do I get the feeling that Mytical is twisting the truth? :D
That *ahem* is there for a reason. :) Wait...did you say you had chocolate? :yummy:. Oh, what was I saying before?

Nevermind ;).
so here's to wishing good will toward women (ok I guess to the guys too)
Thank you Mytical! :)

LOL! Yep. They are my concept of the totally overboard Geek/Freaks. When so many things are WRONG in this world, when all over the world there are still whites who hate blacks and the blacks are learning to hate the Mexicans, the Catholics and Prodestants STILL can't be friends, the other Muslims are trying to kill all the Shiites... the list of very REAL racists goes on and on... and these people get all upset over someone telling them that they are offending a civilization that only exists in their own minds. That would be like Vel & Ethric getting so angry that they start writing hate mail and wanting to ban anyone who makes fun of Liches because the "Living impaired" have feelings too. :disagree:

While the site isn't generating a lot of income from all the time spent on it, at least it will pay its own expenses for the years to come. And I think that's really the best scenario: if CH was spondored, the site would lose its neutrality and become some sort of mindless promotional tool.

For all the Klingons out there:

Not really a neutrality, but some sort of balance between the Might and Magic "fanboyism" and the Ubisoft criticism.

Went over to duelmastersetc.com today (they have a forum for the TCG). What I saw made me add a wish to my wish list:

Here goes:

I wish for Celestial Heavens to never cease :D.
(that forum over at duelmastersetc is DEAD...and that feels like an understatement).

Also, I wish that Mytical and stefan become RTKs ;) (IMO, they deserve it) :)
