im playing a map, and mass confusion was cast on my army.
at first i laughed, thinking yah oh, im so scared.
since the couple times i tried the spell, i wasnt impressed, and the description says "some" of the units forget to attack or shoot.
but i was suprised to discover that all my ranged units were completely neutralized. they couldnt shoot at all.
is that a bug? or is the spell working as intended? since the description of the spell definitely isnt accurate, it should read, "all ranged units will forget to shoot" not "some".
or is it because the AI hero had expert dark magic, and specialized in mind magic(or whichever gives mass confusion)?
i didnt have cleansing, and it ended up being a hard battle seiging that castle without ranged attacks.
confusion - never knew it was so powerful against ranged

That is, if that particular bug has been fixed. Otherwise it's 50, 30, 10 and 100%...Jolly Joker wrote:Keep in mind they don't retaliate either!
Percentages are 50, 70, 90 and 100% for no Dark (Magic Insight), Basic, Ad´vanced and Expert Dark Magic, respectively.

Good Point!!! I forgot about that buggy. I assume because none of his shooters could shoot though that it didn't matter much.Gaidal Cain wrote:That is, if that particular bug has been fixed. Otherwise it's 50, 30, 10 and 100%...Jolly Joker wrote:Keep in mind they don't retaliate either!

they dont retaliate? is that what the spell means in the description when it says that some of the units dont attack?Jolly Joker wrote:Keep in mind they don't retaliate either!

i always thought that the spell just reduced the total damage the stack did, like if stack of 100 creatures are attacking, only 50 of them would be calculated for damage. (or whatever the percent is)
but it also stops the affected stack from retaliating?
confusion sounds better and better.
i would have to say that dark magic is now one of my favorites, i think it has some of the most powerful spells in the game. blind, frenzy, puppet master, and now confusion. of course, these can all be cleansed and some units are immune, but these spells still are very useful.
and there is, or was a bug with the confusion spell?

Yep. pretty nice on a battle griffin. But remember that's at the expert level. At lesser levels, it stops some units from shooting/retaliating.myythryyn wrote: but it also stops the affected stack from retaliating?
Here's a good one. I was challenging an abandoned mine and it turned out to be 11 mummies. No problem I thought, there speed is only 3. But the mummies cast expert confusion on my only shooting unit and ended up inflicting some casualties on my army.
