Heroes V Demo Soon?

So, will the demo be available for download on gamespy you think?

I don't really want to spoil the fun by playing a demo before the real game, but if it's there to be downloaded, it'll be quite tempting...

Hopefully we'll see some drastic improvements over the open beta in the demo.

Necro Hero Bios

I find it strange that Sandro is mentioned. If he exists in this new world, then other old heroes should be present as well. And I don't really see the logic behind that. If the Sandro mentioned is indeed the old Sandro, then perhaps there exists some link between H5 and H4 (or H3 before that world'...

Skills

Well, after looking at all the different abilities, I certainly take back my previous opinion of there being too few skills :)

I'm actually very pleased with the skill system as it appears now. Looks fun!

Necropolis Hero Abilities

That may be, but if neutral creatures are as willing to join your army as in HIII, the skill will definitely be worth it. You could even have two heroes: one with the most practical skills for a necromancer, and one with Herald of Death and diplomacy (+ other required skills) to get those neutrals. ...

I'm a huge fan of having heroes on the battlefield. For me too, the rpg aspect is very important, and as the heroes came much more to life in HIV than in HIII, reverting back to the HIII system is imo a bad thing. Sure, the hero system in IV wasn't the most balanced, but it was fun! And you really c...

Herald of Death immediately transforming joined neutral stacks into undead of the same level... This coupled with Diplomacy, and Disguise and Reckon will make for a pretty potent combination.

Seems too powerful to me.

Haven Hero Abilities

How exactly does the Guardian Angel skill work? If the angel disappears after battle, is the hero immediately transported to the nearest town, or can heroes move around without troops?

Is it just me, or could Master of Elements be easily exploited? I don't know how many elementals are summoned at any given hero level, of course, but if a stack of 1 gremlin is replaced by 20 elementals...well, you get the picture.

So War Machines seems like a very good skill indeed!

I'm a bit surprised that Defence and Offence has switched stat-bonuses from HIII. I like the fact that Defence gives more...defence ;) but I'm not sure I like the downgrade of Offence.

Nice icons, though. But perhaps a bit few skills?

Differing winds would be ok. But how do you distinguish between one type and another? Do you right click, or try and fail, or cast a spell like "Visions"? Will the winds be limited to mountains? How about a situation where a neutral stack is guarding a bridge, so that your walkers have to ...

Yeah, the first map in "A Pirate's Daughter" is a bit difficult. Everything depends on the first few weeks. But it has a good story. Other than that, I think all the original campaigns are quite good difficulty-wise if you haven't played heroes a lot. I really liked the campaigns for Gathe...

Strong winds would work of course, but how to do it? If you risk killing all or a portion of your creatures, will anyone dare to use it? I never use whirlpools because I don't want to lose creatures, and the larger the army you send through a whirlpool, the higher the losses. If the winds simply den...

I like DL's idea, but I think it will be too hard to implement. Basically on account of balancing. The main disadvantage of going, or flying, with an army consisting of fliers only, is the fact that you are leaving the rest of your army behind. Other than that, I can't think of any disadvantages. Th...
