Re: Heroes 4 The Restoration of Axeoth

Oh, that's some pretty quick turnaround, very nice! I was originally just going to sit on this bug until I was done with the Underworld campaign, but if you're turning around these bugs this quickly, I may just start over if you can get this one fixed quickly. On the boatman level (mission 2), there...

Re: Heroes 4 The Restoration of Axeoth

Played through the first Tarnum campaign (Warlords of the Wasteland) and had a pretty good time, but a couple things stood out to me as likely bugs: 1. On mission 5, there's a quest hut near the starting town to swap the All-Seeing Crown for one of the Tiger armor pieces (the helm I think?), but I d...

Re: Silence of Siren

This looks almost like it's just a skin on top of HoMMIII, I have to say, I am excited.

Just show me a town screen and I'm sold.

Re: Heroes 4 The Restoration of Axeoth

Just posting to say the Every Dog Has His Day announcement that was linked to in the OP appears to be a dead link now.

That said, having finally re-caught the HommIV bug for the first time in ages I'm looking forward to trying some of these out, so thank you very much for making them.

Re: Songs of Contest - Early Access Starts Tomorrow

I got SoC as soon as Early access started, and played it a fair bit the first two days, and then more or less stopped. I keep thinking "Oh, I should go back to it", but then hovering over its play button on Steam, I always seem to find a reason not to. Considering how excited I was for thi...

Oh wow, did I ever pick the right time to get in a Vintage Heroes mood. And here I was just going to go back to Shadow of Death. And while this does look very promising, I do have a few questions before diving in... First let's go with the big one: will this make my existing HoMMII unplayable unmodd...

Well, to be fair, that's not what he's saying. He's saying to build from the ground up, rather than taking a large portion of the building and building around that. In theory, this could be a good direction to take the game, but in practice, I admit it's not looking like it'll be too popular with pe...

Ah, well, I agree with you there (and maybe the bone dragon too). I think III actually had the right number of dragons, but it also had 8 factions and 4 of the dragons were outside of town. I couldn't see more than 2 in town with 5 factions, and in that case I really couldn't see it being anything ...

So they're going by lore defines gameplay where they like to but the fans don't (dragons aren't recruitable), but ignore it when they don't want to and the fans do (necromancers being a part of the silver cities)?

That seems incredibly backwards.

I'm not sure I like this yet. I might... I might not. It certainly sounds more interesting than "this is just a giant dude" and the fact that you can't retaliation steal her helps (I thought this would be a problem with bosses, I hope that all bosses have unlimited retaliations, else they'...

Okay, that's what I thought, the wording just confused me for a second =P Oh well, it's not a big deal.

I'll admit, I much preferred the male angels to these seraphim.

I must have seriously missed something; I thought each faction only got one champion.

I dunno, they're fairly similar. Weak flying units that can take more attacks than necessary to kill (regeneration --> incorporeal) and are a nuiscence to casters (players --> monsters). the regeneration could also be compared to the raising of their numbers. Sure, they're different, and the differe...

I hadn't, no. In that case, assuming they play differently than zombies, then maybe it is something new, but wraiths from III were fairly similar to ghosts from V, so I'm not so sure this isn't just a rose with another name yet. Here's hoping, though!

Nothing new here...

aside from the zombie's name change to ghoul. Anyone else feel necromancers are beginning to fall into a rut? I suppose it's not like they have much choice. Is it dead? Give it to the necromancers...

Ah well, it's still good to know, at least.

I'd say the size accounts for more than that, honestly. Primarily: room for combatants to maneuver. In V, too often did I feel like the small space made maneuvering more difficult than normal as did the rather large large units). I never really had this problem with sieges, aside from inside the cas...

I agree, don't shoe horn in another faction, and 2 factions/expansion would be great as for some wishes... -Neutral dragons (a la Armageddon's Blade) -In town phoenix (can be in expansions if no sorceress/rampart/nature/sylvanish town is around) -paper doll for artifacts (including multiple side/poc...
