Grail Quest sent me two mods that work with versions 1.5 (basic game) and 2.1 (Hammers of Fate). Each Zip file contains the usual .h5m file and a very well documented readme:
Skills Overhaul: "drastically changes Faction Ultimate Skill requirements and rearranges many skills."
Campaign Heroes Starting Skill Changes: "This mod changes the starting skills of the main playable characters in the campaign. It aims to reduce the selectable skills as much as possible, thus expanding development possibilities."
Also, modder psatkha points to two upgrades of his mods at Elrath:
The Necropolis Heroes mod changes the look of the undead heroes using existing creature or hero textures. The results are quite impressive.
The Haven Heroes mod does something similar for the knights, this time with color customization and minor texture changes. Follow the links to check out examples of the changes.
