GameDaily reports that the holiday season has been good to Ubisoft, since its "third-quarter sales rose 24 percent year-on-year," up to 311 million euros. The publisher praises the performance of new titles such as Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent and Red Steel, as well as titles from the first half. It also notes that three new brands launched in 2006, Red Steel, Dark Messiah Might and Magic and Heroes of Might and Magic V, sold a combined 1.9 million units. In 2006, Ubisoft was the 2nd independant publisher in Europe and the fifth in the United States.
