Hail and well met! Hambone here reporting from the trenches -- or should I say BootCamp? I'll be providing the readers of CelestialHeavens.com with a twice-monthly digest on the HOMM franchise from the frontlines of the new reality in Apple computing: the ability to run both OSX and WinXP on the same smooth aluminum machine. Or as I like to call it "the no loser solution".

This week I finally found time to get down to business. After sacrificing a few voodoo gizzards and my stalwart Mac-using soul, I installed WinXP on my new MacBook Pro (computer pr0n: 2GHz dual-core, 1GB RAM, 256MB x1600). I felt like a bigger traitor than if Lord Haart (Steve Jobs?) had sold out to that undead bastard Sandro (Bill Gates?). That is until the HOMMV demo was running without a hitch at 1440x900 with the graphics settings set to high. Then I was blissfully unaware of anything but my own steady clicking.

While you are waiting for the Freeverse OSX port to be finished, check out more MacXP performance details on the HOMMV for OSX site.
