During siege, the battlefield is larger than the standard one. The catapult is not player-controlled. Academy walls are protected by mines and Dungeon walls are protected by poisonous spears.
Technically, any hero can master any school of magic, but their efficiency depends on the hero class - for example, a Knight is not expected to be equally skilled in Dark Magic and Light Magic.
