The log of the chat Fabrice Cambounet had in IRC chat at Noon EDT today is now posted on The Oracle League website, in its entirety. While some questions were downright ridiculous, many answered some really pertinent questions about the Beta test coming up.

One good thing is that beta testers, once chosen, can indeed state they are in the beta, and also participate in The Oracle League's HoMM5 beta tournament. There can be no undisclosed information provided however, iincluding maps, creatures, etc, unless it is already provided on the UBI website.

Update: After speaking directly with Fabrice concerning the ability of players in the closed beta to report a game win/loss to the Oracle League, it is a no... at least until the Open Beta which will be in about two months. He did not state any reasons other than "Ubi will be managing this during the closed beta".
