In an ironic twist to the tale, media tycoon Rupert Murdoch has now set his sight on video games. Newscorp has expressed its interest in making acquisitions in the games industry, stating that they were, "kicking the tires of pretty much all video games companies", including the industry giants EA. Whilst the massive $19bn(!!) EA price tag would deter most investors, Newscorp confidently claim that its "size and cash position give it flexibility in making decisions such as this".
