Poll didn't asked that. And while the game is good in my opinion there are many things that hinder the system especially the poor performance (seemly can't turn off animations either) of map editor and absurd limitations to it, especially the no scripts for multiplayer (includes hotseat) maps I have heard and 8 town limit. And I for one would have preferred the Heroes 4 system for spellcasters.Jolly Joker wrote:That's your opinion. If you look at the poll a lot of people seem to think that everything is alright with them casters. So why change things?
No offense, but you come off as a rude, spoiled by absent-minded parents 9-year old. Why don't you wait till you start shaving before telling others to get a life, something you seemingly know nothing about, eh?Shuyssar wrote:Get yourself a life, whinner!
Thanks. I'm doing my best, but I'm afraid I have no chance against the arrogance of general ignorance. An example?Naskoni wrote:No offense, but you come off as a rude, spoiled by absent-minded parents 9-year old. Obviously your biggest criteria in a TBS is the graphics - good for you HoMM V delivers in that regard and that is sufficient for your happiness! Now leave the grown ups to think about the stuff behind the pretty graphics, will you?
HoMM V did have that special thing for several days for me. Then I started witnessing Nival's vision of "creativity", piles of bugs and half-baked implementation, cheaty AI, "interesting" campaign, lies of various sorts, the TreeAnt, MP (ha-ha), the "if you want bigger difficulty play with your right hand behind your back" interview + "no text windows for you" remarkable decision, the "free" maps fiasco and now the rather uncalled for resource "rebalance" (I might be wrong but where and when have the fans requested this, as there were tons of other stuff that was requested and never done especially when it came to bugs) and the extreme Raise Dead "balancing" - from somewhat overpowered to nigh useless + Vlad's super nerf - the sure sign of people that know how to balance stuff - they cut the head a bit below the knee. I don't play anymore - I was hoping for 1.3 to improve things but seeing how Nival "balances" the game in "brave", "decisive" and equally unsuccessful moves I might as well move to something else soon - I'm beginning to believe they are hopeless.
If nothing else I find it really humorous how the Jelly man proclaims every single change of the game and in general Nival decisions as the best thing under the sun and of course the general ignorance of anybody that critisizes those - the game is so complex we cannot even hope to begin understanding it, thus how can we critisize it at all!?! With such enlightening argument no matter what they do we should stilll be happy - as they say ignorance is bliss, right? Right... Jelly alone can make me come back to these forums - good read indeed!
Anyway - the short version of my answer: NO!
I belive the point was that no one complained about the resource reqs, so why did they change something that didn't bother no one when there are plenty of things that do they could have changed? They didn't seem to mind the resource reqs when they relesed the game, and they had a whole extra month for them.Jolly Joker wrote: Fans' request is now the Holy Bible, while Fans' ignorance as in we don't bother to count to seven would never been changed due to no one requested that? Sounds a bit like politics, but hey, what's good enough for the world's leading power... err. Wrong board.
So ppl who still are playing don't need a life?!Jolly Joker wrote: If only the people who stop playing would stop posting and get a life instead of trying to get a couple dozen parting shots in.
Yes, you are doing your best - going above and beyond whatever your your pay has suggested. One has but to wonder how irrespectively of whether it was the beta, the state of each patch and even now you pour tons of arguments how the game is more advanced, better polished and whatnot in comparison to whichever previous installment but on the other hand you seem to be part of such a nano-minority of people that find nothing wrong with the game... How come so few share your utmost enthusiasm with how Nival "works" on the game? I find it strange when you praise every single decision of theirs while seemingly almost everybody else is at a loss as to half the things they are doing? Maybe because there is hardly any communication with these people?Jolly Joker wrote:Thanks. I'm doing my best, but I'm afraid I have no chance against the arrogance of general ignorance. An example?

Watching the daily show these last few days Ive relised how nival is a lot like bush.So to answer your question, constructive criticism would be if you said:"this aspect of HV is good because this and this, but this aspect of HV is even better because..."ThunderTitan wrote: Oh, and what exactly is Constructive Criticism if ppl stateting how X or Y should be changed and why isn't??

The map editor certainly complains about it. But now that I've actually tested it, yes you can put more than 8 towns to the map and I even gave player 11 towns starting (with some 14 towns total). It worked but it obviously made the loading time much longer. I didn't test much beyond that.DaemianLucifer wrote:Btw,did anyone check if this limmit is true?Humakt wrote:and 8 town limit.
