Alright, DL, sorry about that.

But we'll just have to agree to disagree, ThunderTitan. I think you are making morale too specific, and you think I'm making it too general. I think morale encompasses much more than effects on the body while you are considering only that. I'd be happy to debate some more with PMs, but other than that, I guess I'll drop it.

Overall morale is how your mental state affects your performance. Cold logic shouldn't affect performance, but actions (you use it to determine whether or not you take this action or that one).

Casters: this isn't D&D, you don't have mages doing complicated movements and using expensive ingredients. Casting is about the same as a melee strike, you just use mana instead of muscles. They also aim mentaly, no LoS required.

Shooters can't use their bows/etc. when they're engaged because they have to wind it up/charge it/load it etc., and there are this guys next to them that are blocking the view anyway.

I have spoken. Bask in my wisdom, worms. :devious:

The casting in melee issue doesn't seem as bad to me as the fact that "confusion" doesn't do anything to a caster unit.

The confusion spell is so powerful that units can forget to shoot and even retaliate but somehow the caster units can remember enough to cast a spell.

Somehow I think that's a little screwy.

Which supports my claim that casting is instinctual, and doesn't require much thought.

Still, gameplay wise Confusion should affect casting.

It is difficult to argue with your logic [casting is instinctual] if you assume that confusion works as intended for a reason.

For Titans that sort of casting seems somehow reasonable. For other creatures like ArchMages I don't know if I really like it.

I agree though that it would be NICE if confusion effected the casting process also.

And indeed it should always affect it,not just with one hero.

I agree as well. Confusion should affect spellcasting, especially for magi, whose casting is clearly not instinctual.
