Topaz smiles at the offer, but turns it down. "No thanks. It's been a long time I've used my own legs, so I'll walk. How about you take my friend Saphire here instead." She drapes the furs over her shoulders, silently pleased at how nice and warm they are. "My husband should be joining us shortly; he's currently trying to fortify the city."
She grits her teeth and gazes towards the path ahead. "So demons wil stand against us? Then they shall fall by my blade."

And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

I grin at Topaz and ask:
"I just have to ask this...whenever did you and Omega find the time to get married? From what I've heard, it's been battle after battle for the last two years."

Both Saphire and Sun agree that it is a bad idea, the giants just chuckle and shrug. "No man nor beast in their right mind would attack a convoy of us, let alone with you around, but perhaps you are right. Might make a tempting target for an archer. We shall leave a escort for your husband, so he may be able to find us. Let us be off."
The snowball fight gets hectic for a bit, but once the convoy gets going it ceases. Despite the devestation and destruction around, it is somewhat a pleasant trip. Especially when they start singing. Even though it is a mornful sounding song, it is very beautiful and once Saphire starts aiding in the singing it is almost as if it comes alive. Visions of a once great people dance in your head. You see Frostmourn as it was on it's greatest day. The sun bouncing off of the shimmering ice as litterally thousands of these mighty people are banding together to work, play, and live their life. Ships, three times the size of most ships line the harbor, and the glistening towers keep watch for trouble. The castle and walls seem to stretch forever, the rainbow hue of sun mixing with ice causing a pleasant dizzing effect.
You see traders coming and going, hear the hum of a thrivin and bustling community, and can even smell the food on the fire. Just as the song seems to lead you to what happened to this once great fortress, you hear a voice. "We're here. The mines. Within are some of the most vile and deadly of the Demon army. Prepair yourself. We will follow your lead. My axe thirsts for demon blood."
The mine is rather large (of course it used to be mined by the giants so it makes sense), and you are able to go people side by side if you wish. Only about 2 of the giants can be side by side however, and be comfortable that is. You can smell the sulfer and stench. Indeed the demons must be inside. They probably have a few sentries guarding the inside of the entrance, waiting to pounce on anybody who is unsuspecting.

"I'll tell you later" whispers Topaz. She surveys the entrance, looking for any signs of demons. "Stefan, Sun, you two should sneak ahead and look for... an advantage. Fate, you should find a good place to take a shot from. You too Saphire. Vlad and you" she points to Titan, still not exactly sure of what is name is "are with me. The giants should stay back here for the moment. The three of us should be able to lull the guards into a false sense of security, which will make them easy targets for the rest. Any objections?"
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.
"Anybody know anything about these demons and their ability to sense things? Cause I'm thinking either some invisibility and some of my patented scouting, or maybe even a Veil spell, but I don't wanna be all the way over there with you guys here if they can sense me coming a mile away."
Human madness is the howl of a child with a shattered heart.
If they were in their own realm, you'd be hurting. Since they are not, most (and I want to put an emphasis on MOST) do not have any unsual perception abilities. (According to the giants, btw the Giants could care less that these are demons. Anybody foolish enough to come to this mine without permission would be treated the same.)
So you are able to walk right into the mine. None of them pay you much attention, and you see a bunch of humans being forced to dig. It is obvious they are looking for something. You don't see Jade or Onyx (who also was in the vision if you remember) at first. You hear a loud 'thump' and then some laughter, and see a human sized demon come flying out of a window. You hear a muffled "She has to get tired eventually, I can not believe that you louts are letting a female best you. She is JUST a human."
"If she's human, I'm a imp. No human is that strong. And the man, he moves like lightning. Bet 300 souls that your strongest champion could not take the both of them. This is a makeshift arena after all."
"Your on! Morale has never been this low. We should have never put those two in the games. Shel'reth! Finish this. Make it fast, show these 'humans' what facing a demon is really about."
Though the loud voices carry a good distance you can not see what they are talking about. Sounds like you don't have much time. As you stand there two big pit fiends come walking by and enter the area where the voices are coming from.

The creatures look at you oddly. "You are probably too late. But it's in this building here. The contest is already beginning, so only if they manage to survive this round will you get a chance. That is doubtful. They are going up against one of Grek's generals. Should be Lemure bait in a few minutes."

"Before we left the city I got some trip wire and spikes. In the past I had lived in the wilderness for some time and trap skills were essential for my survival - I could create a makeshift one if you give me some time."
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

Apparantly they are not waiting for traps.
Inside Well when you enter the makeshift arena the inside is deffinately not like the outside, must be some sort of extradimensional space. It is rather large, and there are about a dozen demons in here watching the contest. In the fighting area of the arena is Jade and Onyx, and they do look a little winded. They are working together against a rather sizable pit fiend. Onyx is throwing Jade, who is using the momentum to dish out some pain to the enemy. You notice her hands and feet are glowing, probably from some spell Onyx cast on her.
The creatures are mostly pit fiends, with some succubi and incubi thrown in. Other types of demons are there, but not in great number. From your estimation, Jade and Onyx might defeat this one, but if so they will be so exhusted that an imp could probably kill them in the next fight. You have twenty minute tops.
Outside As you enter the Mine, your group immediately encounters a horde of small demons. They come in various sizes, and one lands on Topaz's back, trying to bite her. The others swarm toward the rest, how they reacted this quick is not apparent.
((There are 50 demons, about mansize or smaller, no pit fiends or such.))
