Might & Magic X all but assured

The "bible" was created for all genres, but the genre that most needs background and a "bible" is an RPG.

He refers to this thread, though I don't think the bible is such a sure sign- all it shows is that UBI takes their story seriously, be it for campaigns in H% or other games with the MM brand. Still, I won't be surprised if UBI some day annouces that they've started work on MM10.

They should drop the numbers if they work on a new Might and Magic game, and use subtitles instead. Not a lot of people will want to play the tenth game of a series unless they know what happened before.

Well, the PC Gamer 2/06 article said that M&M 10 would be one of the planned future titles.

And people might think Might & Magic X was a sword-and-sorcery porno?

I don't think that would be much of an issue. Final Fantasy X didn't have any M ratings or complaints about hardcore contents...

...other than the fact that I had the feeling that the focus point of the camera was on Yuna's bra laces.

Well, I can hardly believe that Ubisoft bought the M&M brand just for two games - HoMM5 and DMoMM. If you have read at least part of the new MM history that is published in the official website, you'll know that there's more to come. HoMM5 and DMoMM are just the break-throughs - we will see also MM10, I'm absolutely sure about that. :)

I thought that dark mesiah was supposed to replace MM.

I thought it was suppposed to replace Crusaders. :)
Far too many people speak their minds without first verifying the quality of their source material.

Could not be happier if this was to occur. I'd love to see MM10 look like Dark Messiah engine wise and be like H5 where it's sort of a remake of an old game like MM6/7. Please please please please.

MM10 will not be like Morrowind/Oblivion, according to the article (not first person).

It would want to be very much like every other game in the series.

I hope there's more MM...I haven't played 8 or 9 honestly, partly due to lack of availabilty (at least around where I am) and not-so-wonderful opinions of others who have. But I would like to start again at some point, and I think a MM10 would be nice.

@ Angelspit
It may not a bad idea to drop the number, since the story is completely new now. However, then they'd probably have to drop the 5 in H5 for the same reason.

That's what I would have done if I had been the person in charge. The new name would have given them additional freedom in their design decision, since the game wouldn't have been a direct follow-up to the old series. But I guess Heroes of Might and Magic is long enough already without a clumsy subtitle.

Considering that part of the name already could be seen as a subtitle, yes. Though I still think it should have one- being able to write RoE is very helful at times, and H4 standard is so much longer and tiring :tired:

Well, as of now, it's:

H1 (that's all you need, since there are no other versions)

H2:TSW
H2:PoL

H3:RoE
H3:AB
H3:SoD

H4:GNW
H4:TGS
H4:WoW

So I don't really see what you're complaining about... No doubt, they'll think of some name for Heroes 5 as well, in order to provide forum posters with easy abbreviations.

I've never used H4:GNW much, since the Genesis subtitle was not official.

You know,it wouldve been an excelent marketing trick to use the Genesis as an official subtitle. Many people would buy HIV:The Genesis just out of curiosity
