Don't say anything since I intend to find out for myself.

Anyone got a savegame with Tau were you defeated the IG? I never saw that story as the Necrons obliterated them.

I'm doing Chaos now and took the Tau stronghold yesterday (but the game crashed so I had to repair my installation). Happened to you two?
My game crashes pretty randomly and when I load a game when a map has already started, there's no music!

Just ask and I'll give you the savegames you want (though I've only played Tau and Chaos....plan to do IG next).

All you need is Warriors, and they don't even cost anything to make from the monolith. One of the reasons i chose them.

Just started playing the SM's on normal. Why do they only get 1 unit bodyguard when the Necrons had 4?! Is it the difficuly?!

Do you try to get the best honorguard units A.S.A.P or do you just get 3 normal ones and start to take out captials?

I noticed that the best honorguard units are always as far as possibly away from your capital so your left with lowlvl stuff at the beginning. (But now I got my Megaarmored Nob) :)

I haven't tried easy but on Normal you can only buy 1 honorguard unit for each province you control. I think it was the same on hard. (maps where the enemy got two bases are impossible on hard. At least I couldn't win).

The honour guards are funny like that. With the Tau, Imperial Guard, and Necrons you would receive a squad, and with the Space Marines and Chaos, you get one powerful unit.

It does still annoy me that an attacking enemy will be able to start with two bases. I understand they want a challange, but it feels a bit cheap now and then. Of course, it doesn't really matter if you already have a large base to begin with.

Has anybody managed to take the province that gives you the forward base? That's the one map I just don't feel like it's worth the bother. I did notice that it gave the Tau the ability to build listening posts on non-strategic point terrain.

With the Tau I took the forward base on first try. With Chaos I had to be a little tactical. Use vehicles and possessed and repair vehicles. The patrols near the critical point are taken care of by vehicles and dual Sorcerers (Doom Bolt ftw!). Gonna take it with Orks next.

I really haven't found the need to take it because the other bonuses are enough. Fury and the Space Port make the campaign almost too easy. The factory bonus doesn't hurt either.

I've had neither the space port or fury since they're so heavily guarded. Easier to take main provinces. Usually I go for main provinces when I got 3 honorguard units.

I'm more sadistic. I like to take all the territories and box my opponents in. That way I can get war gear from defending. I fnd taking the Tau stronghold a pain if you do not have a decent amount of honour guard units.

The space port is really easy to take. All you need are fast scouting units to grab up the servitors. For fury, just build up your base defense and wait. For the factory bonus, all you need are a few plasma generators and the slag deposit to the northwest.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

What, Fury hard to take?! SM on normal vs. Necrons, and i barely lost 10 units. Space Port was harder until i got the Assault Marine and i actualy took more care about building my base. It's only annoying coz you have 2 things to micromanage. But i did love taking servitors from the enemy bases (Necrons in this case).

Only 10? Didn't lose a soul using Chaos vs. the Necrons on normal.

In the words of Deadpool from X-Men Legends 2: I win! I win! Neener neener neener neener. :tonguehands:

Anyone else find that the Chaos predators just don't seem that useful in comaprison to the Defilers?

I haven't been posting for awhile, but I did manage to beat the Eldar campaign. Only the Orks and Space Marines are left to beat.
