Higher System Requirements?

I barely meet all the specs but the video card, and since this is a laptop, no DM for this poor boy.

oh well, I spend too much time playing games anyway (if that's possible).

I bought Dark Messiah yesterday. My CPU is only 2,0 Ghz but the game runs quite fine so far (Chapter 5). Don't hesitate to turn off some graphic options for better performance (for instance I'm in 1024*768 with medium details, and I put the Shaders on "Min.")

Great game by the way.

Have you noticed any crashes Marzhin? I remember the demo was buggy for me and would always crash right before the Cyclops fight.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

Well if I remeber correctly, the demo actually ended just BEFORE the Cyclops fight, wasn't it ?

I had one crash the first time I ran the game, at the beginning of chapter 1, SPOILER -- when the undead cyclops appears and smash the gates to Stonehelm --, but after disabling some graphical options it never occured again.

Well, it's running pretty damn well (very playable) on a P4 2.4 with a 9600XT and 512mb RAM. Load times feel a tad long some times and there are the usual source-stutters very occasionally. But doesn't ruin the experience at all and looks pretty good even on low settings!

If I'm lucky, I'll find out how well my rig runs the game in about 12 hours.

Finished the game, it does become a bit unstable in the last three chapters. Overall a very enjoyable game, too bad a few levels are not very interesting.

So, how many chapters does it have, and how many hours does it take to finish. Also, how much space does it take?

There are ten chapters (including the Prologue and Epilogue), it takes roughly 12 hours to complete, there are four endings, the install takes about 7,5 gigabytes (I only installed the solo game, so it may be bigger with the multiplayer) ;)

I wouldn't worry much about that.

So, is or isn't Xana Biara?! :D

I chose the path of "good" in the last part of the game, so I don't know. Maybe you have an answer if you choose the path of evil...

Not really. The game itself is not very hard, and as there are multiple paths to go through most of the tough situations...

I just noticed that on the game box the minimum requirements now include a 2.6 Ghz processor. So it went from 2.0 to 2.4 to 2.6. If the game optimization fails, pump up the requirements.

I'm now installing the game. It takes a while, and I haven't even started downloading the Steam updates...

Could you please fill us in on the story? (By "us" I mean all those people whose gaming experience doesn't include DM anywhere in the forseeable future.) Maybe a thread with SPOILER written all over it would do the trick. Or a PM?

It took me probably something like 15-16 hours.

But that's just one ending and one path (predominantly warrior). So there is almost guranteed replayability.
