My random thought of the day revolves around virtual democracy.Do you think we can achieve such a thing with the current technology?Everyone really woting on everything is such a nice dream,but can it work,or would it suffer more than communism?

Well I think it could work..if they hired the best hackers to protect it. (after all you know somebody is going to change the results to suit them)...so I think each person would have to recieve a confirmation of there vote, and who they voted for...which would lead to privacy issues...so it would deffinately be a tightrope...about 1/10th of an inch wide at that.

As if. Real ballots aren't any safer. As long as there's somebody to check the votes for real (i'm looking at you Florida) it's safe.

And why do votes need to be secret?! Except the fact taht some ppl are crazy...

And DL, what makes you think everyone would always vote?!

I never said everyone would vote(and some people like krimals and looneys shouldnt have voting power),but lots of people would.And it can be easilly protected if the voting computers had no way of sending complex data(so just yes,no and maybe a number),and the only way to break in the system would be to physically access the main computer,which would be zealosly guarded.

I am getting into the holiday spirit and will be changing avatars just for All Hallow's Eve. Will be back to the one tLD sent me after. Still making up my mind which I like best though (for halloween).

Got a few new avatars to use. Darker, like my mood. I consider myself a decent person, but right now I am tired of being stepped on. So I have bad days..so I am not perfect..so what? I know a lot of people here have actually enjoyed what I do, and I appreciate that. Now if only people out here would do that. Just once I would like my father, instead of criticizing me, belittling my life style, or worring about my financial state would just say. "Becky, you are a good daughter and I love you." Guess it's too much to ask. I am sorry if this bothers, or offends anybody, but I am just to tired to care right now. It's not anybody elses problem, but I just had to vent somewhere. Look in pet peeves if your interested.

@Mytical
You are usually friendly and joyful(at least you seem to be).I doubt a spell of dark mood could be offensive to anyone and considering that you write about it,it must have been a hard time.I'm sorry about your father,it's probably not something you can dismiss easily nor easy to change.No matter if it is your fault or not,some people just won't appreciate you.

This is very true Elvin. He believes I should be married and/or pregnant by now, and ..this is not for me (in any way shape or form). Also for some reason he doesn't like me donating so much to charities, ect. I normally am able to ignore it, but he gets worse arround the holidays. His dad passed away in November (a long time ago) so he becomes Ebenesser (or however that is spelled) during the holidays. Though I don't stay with them, I get regular visits. I love my parents, but wonder why if they don't approve of my lifestyle why they bother visiting. Anyhow, I promise not to be too much of a royal pain. Just sometimes will vent, rant, ect (more then likely then delete) just to get it off my chest :).

PS...my 'scary' story is done if anybody interested.

Hehe he wants to become a grandpa!About marriage...Well you know for yourself what is best.To find to the proper guy,to be ready to live together,to relinquish your current way of life are not things to be taken lightly.About donating I might have found it amusing but it seems he is a bit pressing on the matter.And...of course you get regular visits! Even if you disagree they still want to see you,maybe critisize you a bit ;) Ah the human nature and love-hate relatioships :D
If it's not too much to ask about what age are you?I can tell you are quite older than me but can't quite guess.Plus making the mistake of guessing a higher age may invoke your wrath :devious:
