Again, Corribus, I ask: "What the hell is wrong with the 'Skins?"

They suck, that's what's wrong with them.

They're playing the Colts this weekend. If they couldn't beat an 0-5 team AT HOME, what do you think is their chance of beating a 5-0 team? With BOOnell at the helm, I'd say zilch.

*sigh* I hate when the season is over before November... :(

I'm a football newbie who's in a newbie pool.

Pittsburgh (2-3) at Atlanta (3-2), who would you pick?

I'm currently in first place, with 7 points ahead of everyone, so I need to play it safe.

I want to say that Atlanta is the safe pick, but I'm not terribly sure about it. It's a strength vs strength match regarding the Atlanta rushing attack vs the Steelers rush defense. At the same time, the Pittsburgh offense seems to have awakened, and Atlanta's D isn't anything special (they're about average in rushing and passing defense). Atlanta may be the safe pick in terms of record, but my gut says Pittsburgh.

It's a tough call and you could make a case for either team. When I'm in doubt, I usually pick the home team because there's a definite advantage in playing at home. Not to mention, Atlanta's nursing a bruised ego after being somewhat humiliated by the Giants. In my pool here at work I'm edging towards Atlanta.... but just barely.

The pool I was referring to is with a couple of Dark Messiah fans over at Disciples of Sareth. I wish I had told you guys about it, since we only have 5 or 6 active players now.

Anyway, thanks for the tips. I think I'll go with Atlanta.

Sometimes it's also helpful to check out what the official spread is, over at espn.com. It's a generally good guide to who is most likely to win. Just remember the home team always automatically is given 3 points advantage.

It's always a good day when a Cardinals team (in any sport) loses. :D
Sacrilege!

It's always good when any team from New York or Dallas loses!

I don't think Willia Parker will be able to get as many yards against that Atlanta D. Pitt won big last week so they're due for the let down.

Atlanta 20-17 (but it could also be Pittburgh 20-17).

Michael Vick's passing has been off all year and the Steelers shut down running teams. I think Pittsburgh wins this easily.

It's Homecoming time at Iowa State. Texas Tech comes to town, and no doubt they're favored over ISU. It was pretty interesting when the two teams last met in Ames.

So much for USC...
Iowa State loses. AGAIN. I get the feeling we're not going to be making a bowl appearance this season.

Da Bears cruise against the 49'ers. Real test comes in two weeks when a three game road stretch begins. @ Giants, @ Jets, @ Patriots.

:vomit: It's finally over, the thrashing of Iowa State by Kansas, 41-10. We seem to have packed it in since the game 3 loss to Iowa. Oh well, at least Northwestern beat Iowa...

The important thing is that the Detroit Lions managed to win a second (and most likely last of the season) game.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

Not to mention my Skins eeked out a victory (in most unlikely fashion) against the hated Cowturds.

I didn't have much success in my pool recently. The second place guy is getting closer to me. I think I'll ask you guys for your help for this week's picks.

That may be the first time both teams have attempted a game winning kick on the final play of the game!

I don't care how... We beat the Cowboys!
