Unread postby Zrana » 15 Oct 2006, 15:52

Im sure i saw a mod somewhere that brings back the texture for female inferno heroes.. When i recruit deleb and she looks like a weirdly fat man its disturbing. Does anyone know if such a mod exists?

there is a whole series of mods that changes the hero appearances for all factions over on Elrath.com:

try that and see if the inferno mod there suits your needs?

Do those mods work for you in 1.3? Because I tried the dungeon pack and I see no change? Am I doing smth wrong or what?

you might need to update the timestamps on the files.

it's not hard. do the following:

extract the pak file into a directory on your comp (just download winzip/winrar and use that).

once the directories are extracted, use a timestamp updater to change all the timestamps on all the files in the directories. I like this one:

http://www.irnis.net/soft/xtst/

you can also do this manually (open the files one by one in a text editor, add a space somewhere and then remove it, then save the file), if you prefer.

once you have updated all the files, repack them back into the original .pak file (or make a new one and delete the original). make sure to use "zip" compression instead of "rar" if using winrar. I think you can even leave compression enabled, but if you want to make absolutely sure, you can tell it to use the "store" method.

done.

edit:

I just found a nice shell extender that allows attribute changes as well, for those that prefer to simply "rt-click" in order to change attributes:

Thanks ... it works... still there is a conflict between this mod and the smart warlocks mod I've been using... so I edited te files from this mod to give the starting attributes according to the other...

yup, that's the way to go.

I actually use a utility that allows you to merge files line by line (a bit easier than copying and pasting, or re-editing).

It's called Winmerge:

works great.

cheers
