Random Banter
Ever notice how government holidays keep changing? Used to be we got Washington's birthday and Jefferson's birthday, but at some point they got merged into Presidents Day. But the Presidents don't have the same birthdays so its really nobody's birthday at all.
Then someone noticed we were one holiday short, so along comes MLK day. But for a while not everyone celebrated it. As I recall there was an election about it in Arizona.
Here in Texas we used to have LBJ's birthday, which I guess got swallowed up long distance by the President's Day. And when I was a kid, we got both Robert E Lee and Jefferson Davis' birthday. Of course these later got merged into Confederate Heroes Day. When somebody complained that this might still be offensive to black people, it got merged with Juneteenth with Confederate Heroes and Juneteenth celebrated on alternate years.

Actually, I tend not to notice it because we don't get any of those days off. At my company, the "lesser" government holidays are lumped into a week-long winter vacation during the week following Christmas. The only way I notice them is if I see kids outside playing at a time when they should be in school.
Seriously.. try it. It IS like tomato soup, but much easier. Tomato soup takes a pot, fire, and a bunch of time and cleanup. Ketchup takes a shake and a squirt. Er...Kristo wrote:Hey now, I thought ketchup was supposed to be good for you. Or are you implying that only a pimply-faced youth would dip a grilled cheese sandwich in ketchup? I myself prefer dipping them in tomato soup - ketchup is not far off from that. Weird, but not far off.

Are you sure it wasn't 8 the following morning and you actually slept through a whole day? Or a whole month?a55a55in wrote: That happen to me 6 years ago, when I was addicted with pokemon, I played till 5am and went to bed. Next morning I woke up at 8, very refreshed.

Waking up fresh isn't a problem to me, once I surprise myself with cold shower I'll be wide awake. Talking about showers in the morning, I recall one incident when I thought it was time to get up, after breakfast and taking a shower, I realise it's 11.25pm.DaemianLucifer wrote:Sleeping through the whole day wouldnt suprise me.I did it a few times. Its sweet
I dont remember ever waking refreshed on a school day, even after a good healthy 12 hour sleep.
