Lich Evolution

I don't think the staff everybody keeps mentioning is that special, but maybe that's because the overdone weapon designs of japanese rpg's have infected me.

The lich doesn't look too good in H2 and H3. He seems frail and useless. I like the smug attitude of the H5 liches. He seems like he doesn't care what anybody thinks of his feminine garments. He could join the angels in this respect. I don't mind the dress too much either. It gives the lich some very sexy curves it's otherwise bony body wouldn't have. I'm sure it's very romantic for all the vampires in the faction.

And since red is a romantic color, I'll vote for the H5 archlich.

i actually like the H3 Lich .... the lack of armour shows more skeleton, and just works better for me, although it's pretty close

In this case, simplicity isn't the best choice. I will give credit to H3 powerlich for it's egyption type appearance with the snake crown and staff. Combine it with the egyption style mummy in H3, and necropolis would have been a nice faction with the "pharaoh-esque" theme going for it. I'd really like to see that kind of necropolis variation in one of the games.

you like long chain mail skirt? and i always thought lich in h2 -> h3 was obvious downfall...

but undead king appearances rule. it IS mythological, take eg the undead king in Hamlet(Shakespeare prob didnt think the whole idea out himself), but yes i know he didnt throw gasballs there.

The only great thing about h5 is close combat animation(the dagger).

Voted for H3 Power Lich.
As much as I love the H5 archlich design, with its evil elegance and its useless but charming bangles, the greeness of it all disturbs me. The H3 one is the best, especially because of its colours. And I love the chainmail skirt.

I think the gown was meant to be robe in H5.

No one seems to complain about the chainmail skirt in H3 p. lich. But I also think that skirt looks good too. Not as good as the h3 liches erotic mini-skirt though.

Anyhow, I guess the liches in homm used to be females.

This is why one upgrades liches as soon as possible. (Who needs vamp life-drain? Give the liches some modesty!)

Might have something to do with the roman empire and taking over half the known world and holding it for quite a while. None of them pants-wearing soldiers managed that.

H5 Archliches are soo cool... cool white clothing, big scary undead mage... and all the model is really well done....
But what I love about them are their animations I find really cool... the way the staff appears in their hand, they shoot and then they let it go... and it vanishes in thin air, also the knife that they control with their mind, and not to mention the spellbook that thwy don't even touch...

IMO they are the coolest unit in H5 when it comes to look...

Too bad they don't get two shots like other upgraded ranged creatures do … although that might make them overpowered with their "death cloud" attack.
