Ok the robe is useless to a cleric then, the clerics started with chainmail for armor. So here is my ruling, the robe goes to the mage unless the cleric wishes to forsake 1g of his share of the loot (the price of a robe). Note however, i let the characters decide these things among themselves, this ruling ONLY applies if the characters can not agree on something else.

Character Name: Milla's Love-slaveThunderTitan wrote:Here's how it's done, you just start at 10 instead of 8, same number of points (30) and everything:
The number we are currently testing with is 30 points based on a system of starting each characteristic with a base of 8 - this is still being tested for suitability for playing the game and may change. 'Buying' your characteristic higher on a one to one basis from 8-14. For example, I want to raise my initial Strength score from 8 to 13 I spend 5 points from my pool of 30. To raise a score from 14 to 15, however takes two points; and a further two points to raise that same score from 15 to 16. Lastly, to raise your 16 to 17 requires 3 points; and to go from 17 to 18 requires another 3 points. 18 is the maximum a character can raise their scores (plus any racial modifiers they might have - e.g. Elves get +2 Dexterity and thus could have raised their initial Dexterity from 8 to 18 using 16 points and simply add the +2 due to this racial modifier.)
Point Buy System Chart
Characteristic/Cost in Points/Total Cost
8 / 0 / 0
9 / 1 / 1
10 / 1 / 2
11 / 1 / 3
12 / 1 / 4
13 / 1 / 5
14 / 1 / 6
15 / 2 / 8
16 / 2 / 10
17 / 3 / 13
18 / 3 / 16
Base Class: Rogue
Race: Tiefmar (Aasimar and Tiefling Mix)
Dominant trait: Dexterity (cause that's what momma likes!)
Bonus / Switches
+2 Dexterity, +2 Intelligence, +2 Wisdom, +2 Charisma, -4 Constitution
Acid, cold, fire and electricity resistance 5.
Darkvision up to 60 feet.
+2 racial bonus to bluff, hide, listen and spot checks
If I start using 10 base and +1 for up +2 for (15-16) and +3 (17-18)...
STR 10 + 4 (4) = 14 (4)
DEX 10 + 4 (4) + 2 (4) + 2 (6) = 18 (14)
CON 10 + 0 = 10 (0)
INT 10 + 4 (4) = 14 (4)
WIZ 10 + 4 (4) = 14 (4)
CHA 10 + 4 (4) = 14 (4)
So I would be STR 14, DEX 18, CON 10, INT 14, WIZ 14, CHA 14???
Or are my modifiers there for a reason?
Mytical, does that sound right?

Sounds right. Though, you didn't place your racial modifiers to your stats.
Man, 6 Con...

stats have no point anyway here, its just wether you are good at something or bad and that is influenced already by your starting class. there are no strict stat-based rules in this RPG on wether you hit something, and I must say I like it.
Its like an online text parser game, with Mytical as the AI. theres nothing bad about it.

After a note from Mytical... if you are going to go DEX+STR+CON then I will go more toward DEX+CHA to create more uniqueness between our characters.stefan.urlus wrote:Thief stats
Str 14

methinks that's right
that's pretty well rounded for my thief
I'd still like to start out with the low consititution and get all the other stats to 14.
Low Con... Dude! I'm a thief!

Not sure if MLS is still doing his stats but anyhow. Yes a robe CAN go over an armor, it just adds nothing to AC and actually I would make it hurt ac because it would be a bit bulky. I just want to see somebody wear chainmail and platemail.

So?Con isnt primary for a thief.Dex and cha should be on the other hand.gravyluvr wrote: Low Con... Dude! I'm a thief!
Actually platemail means plates over a chainmail,so it already includes the padding and the chain shirt when you say plate mail. And if you put a few robes over you, they may improve your AC,but just by 1 or 2 tops(3 for blundgeoning),and they would reduce your dex bonuses and other actions.Mytical wrote:Not sure if MLS is still doing his stats but anyhow. Well I knew this DL I meant another set of Chain under the plate that would be funny. And the akwardness of the robes would negate any bonuses if wore over any other type of armor. Even two robes wore together would be really really cumbersome.

Then it wouldn't be totally useless, would it? I'm not really interested in doing this, but it's a thought.DaemianLucifer wrote:Thats quite useless because all of the metal armours already have padding. You may receive +1 against some attacks tops, but thats all.Sir William S Titan wrote:Cut up the robe and make it shirt-like, maybe. And the sleves, too. Make it padding for bludgeoning attacks to the torso.

Shouldn't you get some lvl/XP penalty?gravyluvr wrote: Race: Tiefmar (Aasimar and Tiefling Mix)

And you also need to add the + ones and substract the - one from your stats, so i'd suggest moving some points into Con from Dex.
Righ now you'd be at STR 14, DEX 20, CON 6, INT 16, WIZ 16, CHA 16
