Manuals are good, editor seems powerful but the interface is bluntly said bad. And making larger map seems to drag down computer. I've yet to find undo/redo buttons even, and those are required for smooth map making.

aow2 editor also didnt have that button... but it had got the puny excuse of being simply a better game (except the damn AI)

i havent h5 mapeditor, but your talk makes ERM look really userfriendly compared to h5 mapeditor!
