Old games?
Hello, ladies and gentlemen - my question is simple:
Is there a good place to buy old ("out of print") computer games?
Except for ebay..?
Thanks in advance,
MK

There's always Amazon. They may have some old games that have been put back into production (by companies like SoldOut Software). Also, their Marketplace section may have some links to private sellers. Do an amazon search and see what you find.
By the way, were there any games in particular you were looking for?

Not really, I'm just very keen on games with the same old school feel as Heroes I & II, with lots of colours (hehe) and great music, etc. And I'm not very experienced at gaming in general, so I don't really know how to find these things.Kalah wrote:By the way, were there any games in particular you were looking for?
Well, let's see if I can't dig up a couple of examples for you...
- Sonic the Hedgehog collection.
- Heroes Complete (contains Heroes 1-5 with all expansions, so you get the old games as well...)
I guess you could search around for a bit, browsing by categories is rather useful.

Abandonware games aren't too hard to find (especially when you realize that they're referred to as such), particularly those that were popular or sleeper hits, or have cult followings. Some are even legally available (I think you can grab Out of this World for free now). There's also, of course, an entire universe of console emulation. 90's era console games can be suprisingly playable in some cases. Some (later snes games, say) even still look visually attractive. While I suspect linking to emulation related stuff is equally frowned on, such things aren't terribly hard to find.
