Well, that depends on who you talk to. In some cases, there's another word that's used in place of 'booty'.
Of course there is. But clearly in this context Markal means "loot" or "prize" (like pirate booty) and not Freya's posterior. Not only is Markal never characterized (dare I even use that term refering to the plot? :)) as being attracted to her, but *nobody* in this game is attracted to anyone else. This isn't witty innuendo; it's an unintentionally hilarious mistranslation.

Most all of the Nintendo games with words that came out before they realized that they should run this by an English as First Language Interpreter had really bad translation problems. Final Fantasy and a few others come to mind.

Bad dialogue and bad translation have the same effect on a player. You think less of the game. I can probably thank my mother for this one, but every time I read a screenshot with broken English it just takes my right back from the fantasy escape world that these games are supposed to create and puts me right back into the reality of critiquing shoddy productions. The mood is over faster than a fart during sex.

Doh! Besides that :). And even that's hard to call normal attraction. It's not exactly like they're flirting.

It is easy to put foreign -esp. Japanese- games into the worst dialogue list; but keep in mind that those lines weren't written with English in mind, they might make the perfect one-liners, or may be just plain 'cool' in their intended languages. I know couple people that were ridiculed in some parts of the world and highly regarded in others for their dialogues...

Yet, if we consider worst as dumb, then there are loads of them, even in the best games. Most tend to come from a master-of-the-obvious character, and even worse they usually end up being the worst quests, plot twists etc. of the game. Imagine the PC entering a town, you see crab-people and villagers fighting, there are corpses everywhere, and one guy runs to you and says: "We are fighting against crab-people (no s..t!), save us from certain death and I will give you 5 gp!".. Cringe-worthy that's what they are...

The House of the Dead series has some of the worst voice acting ever. House of the Dead 2 and Zombie Revenge tie for first. It just blows my mind everytime I play it. There are too many examples to list. Usually the actors sound apathetic or place too much emphasis on the wrong syllable. It's like everybody is on prozac. Actually, I think Zombie Revenge takes the cake. It's just so awful.

I actually think "Griffin Undying" was the coolest piece of dialog in the entire game. I don't remember a bad one though....

"I am error" <-- For pete's sake....

I can't do it justice on a post. Just find an old arcade machine and try them out. Dreamcast has both games and you can play House of the Dead 2 with House of the Dead 3 on the XBox.
