where are the save files located?

I was wondering where the save files were located, and if i made a certain change to my .exe file, why I cant load my previosuly saved games ( I really dont want to start the campaign over).
On a similar note, I recently whipped out the ole oblivion, much to my dismay that my save games were all gone, so maybe its not the change i made to the .exe but someting with my computer? any help is appreciated

The save files are located in My Documents\My Games\Heroes of Might and Magic V\Profiles

So i found the save games, my documents/html/heores/profiles
the same goes for oblivion
and all the files are there, but neither game will recognize it, when i try to load a game, the list is empty! any help would be greatly appreciated

well i started a new topic asking about problems with online play and got the topic closed saying i should keep related questions in one topic. well last time i checked saved games not showing up and problems with online play arnt really related other than the fact that theyre both problems, so i guess from now on every single question i ever have will have to be in this topic then.
but anyways, to repeat the online problem, when i log on to ubi.com, i cant join a game, the join game button is always grayed out, ive got 1.2, and the weird thing is i can still play duels.

Did you perhaps create a new profile within the game? You need to be in whatever profile you saved the game in.
