Yes, you are. Because it's the racial special. No one said something about Dwarven heroes being unable to cast normal spells as well (and build normal Mage Guilds).
Oh, then it makes sense. I understood that they could only use their special rune magic.

Those two you mentioned arent that good spells.First one is too random, and the second one depeds on both you having light and your opponent having clensing.

Eternal Light isn't spell - it's an ability, like Dark Elves' Secrets of Destruction. ;|

I'm pretty sure i heard this rune ideea before. But it sounds pretty good.

Oh, and here's a big question: how many of the units are dwarves?

Nope, but he does translations for the german localization of the game and therefore has access to all text that needs to be translated.

Jolly Joker wrote: The Hero type will be a RuneMage, yes, the racial skill will be Rune Magic, yes, it will work different from anything known so far in Heroes. I don't know the exact workings myself so far, but it looks like the skill will allow you do cast Rune Magic spells in battle by giving up Wood and Ore. The Rune Magic spells are very different from the other spells. Here is an example for a rune:
Rune of Elemental Immunity - Creature gets immunity to 2 random magical elements untill the end of combat.
Generally it can be said that the Rune spells create pretty interesting effects.
So a dwarf will now know more spells than a wizard?!!?

no, ddwarf will have acces to more spells than wizzard. he will still have to have the required skills for the spells. also, a wizard has the library wich gives him access to 3 magic schools. dwarf will have rune plus 2 magic schools (i assume). basically, they would be like wizards in being "magic guys", but i can deffinetly see how it would be balanced. also, dont forget the wizards ultimate.

The wizard's ultimate requires rare resources in addition to wood/ore and his town is very expensive and resource intense to build up. Plus he has to travel back to his town with his main heroe to use it.

and dont forget ultimates being stupidly hard to even bother trying to get and when you do get them its the end of the game anyway.

either way, im sure they can balancce it pretty easily, especial considering the amount of time they have to make the expansion. and then they can make 1 or two patches as well. im not worried.

I would rather imagine that the dwarves have no 2 schools associated with them, making it completely random for high level spells. And that would make it harder than usual to relay on magic (to get spells and skills to fit each other). If that is true, they will be more might than magic race.
Or they may be granted only one school to appear in guilds.

that would make about 5 times harder to balance than it is now. i thought you wanted to make it easier? maybe they could have 1 magic school plus rune magic, but that would make it really boring to play the. it would take away from alot of the fun of being able to play each race a dozen different ways.

Funny thing is that dwarves are supposed to be anti-magic race, but now they`ll become wisest magicians

not magicians, runemasters. theres a difference. ime sure they will get some sort of magic immunity as part of their specialty, and their level 7 is probably immune to some magics.

Runes have always been tied to dwarves, like some sort of non-arcane magic. Its more like something divine, infused by gods.So dwarves are going to be something more like priests,or better yet paladins of their gods than wizards.

some more *actual* dwarves would be better, what about dwarves with blunderbusters for shooters?
