location of campaign maps

hello, I have HOMM IV the standard edition from 3DO without any expansions and I want to play new campaign maps. I have downloaded some maps from CH site but I don't know in which folder should I put them. I tried to place them where the games are in the HOMM folder but nothing happens. what should I do?????

All the custom maps and campaigns go into maps folder.When you want to start a custom campaign,just start it as a normal map(so new game,custom map,and then find the name of the campaign).

I have already tried that but most of the maps I have downloaded don't work! I don't have any patches installed. Thanks anyway I will try it again

Look at download site if there is writen Version: h4std. Unles you have expansions, only the h4std maps can be played.

i thought about it too. now i'm thinking that maybe the problem is that i don't have the original version. my game is a copy and i used a crack. anyway any opinion is a positive step. thanks

1. Download a patch and try again
