If they come in one stack then you can beat them quite easily. Just put a stack of Hunters in the corner. Block the Hunters with some other creature. Keep resurrecting your fodder stack so the Wights can't get to your Hunters.

They don't, they come in 3 or 4 stacks...after I sent this picture I found out you can find up to 1000 of these guys in certain places!

Also, your hunters will def run out of ammo even if they are protected. I had 3 weeks worth of troops at this point, eek!

A better caption which I thought of later would have been: "Where's Markal when you need him" ;)

When I got to that corner, I thought I'd make it, with all my spells and stuff... but I lost terribly :/

(and I think they were a bit less than 600...)

There's Sandro's cape nearby, so Frenzy them, Puppet Master them, or as vicheron said, ress the protecting fodder. Those that protected hunters that is. And prolly you wont end up with no shots, as Findan comes with ammo cart.

There's two places in the games with insane numbers of wrights/wraiths, the other being in Map 2 of the academy campaign as I noted in my walkthrough... except there's 1000 there!

That had better be a damned nice ring they're guarding.
Before you criticize someone, first walk a mile in their shoes. If they get mad, you'll be a mile away. And you'll have their shoes.

Aren't undead immune to Frenzy and Puppet Master (i.e. mind spells)?

The ring was the +2 health to all creatures ring (vitality)

Also, I never fought them, that would be foolish...I just instant traveled over them ;) If I didn't have that, I'd be pissed I had to go all the way around the island!

Oh wait, that was on the other map with hundreds of wights...I just ignored these bad boys.

Bug or on purpose???

Well, think about it guys, if we actually beat 600 wights, capped our levels, and survived the battle, our 1 unit left would have +2 health! ahahahaha***

You see that if you have the Silent Stalker ability.

ya, I was going for the ultimate until I realized you can't get it with Findan :(

And I believe just regular scouting gives you this ability.
