Problem with the patch

At first I tried installing the patch from the folder in which I downloaded it; told me Heroes 5 wasn't installed...
Copy-pasted it in my heroes 5 directory; it patched successfully...
But when I go in the game, it's still at v1.0 and there's no "easy" difficulty level available.
Now, if I try to re-install the patch, weither from the downloaded folder or from the game's folder, it tells me the patch is already installed... wtf!?

Any help?

I had almost the same problem. I thought I somehow got the US version, because in file properties it said English(US) next day when the download was finished i tried to install and got the same error. Two days later i tried to download th european version, but unfortunatly I did not see that it was "ce"
three days later I installed the regular european version, everything is fine except it says 1.0 version, easy replaced normal
I was using the torrents Lightning speed 50MB in 2 days

Well, I think so... I live in Canada, bought it from EBGames, which, I suppose, is a US company so they should have the US version, no?

Where can I see what version I have?

I downloaded it from one of the links on CH.

I'd like to be able to install the patch so I don't report bugs that are fixed in 1.1 (among other reasons)

Open the registry editor "regedit", go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Ubisoft/Heroes of Might and Magic V
and poke around there and you should be able to find what version you have.

Well okay. In the UBISOFT folder, I have 2 folders. One is Heroes of Might and Magic V (in which I managed to find out I have the US version, but is still registered as being version 1.0)

And the other is Heroes of Might and Magic V Patch 1.1, in which there's one folder, called 1.00.000, in which there's nothing but a (default) REG_SZ (undefined value) [name; type; data]

Is any of this not supposed to be there? (If it makes sense to any of you)

Also, I have another folder called UbsiSoft (no typoes) should I just delete it?

First -don't delete anything if you're not sure what it is. If you're not sure that deleting something won't have repercussions, make a backup before deleting.

Seems you've downloaded the correct patch at least. That's good. I'd try reinstalling H5 and reapplying the patch and see if it works. If it doesn't my advice would be to ask ubisoft if they know what might be amiss.

Right. Then I guess I don't have much choice.
Should I just uninstall the game folder or should I also delete it's "My Documents" folder (savegames, profiles, etc.)

Will it affect anything?

I don't the stuff in mydocuments will affect anything, except that your campaign progress is saved there as well. I'd leave it.

I can not get the patch to work with heros V collectors edition can anyone offer any addvise on what to do?

Heroes 5 CE - that's European, right? Are you sure you got the right language version of the patch?

Well, now I have a new problem: I can't even Un-install the game ._.

When I start the uninstall, I go through it as normal but the uninstall lasts like 10 seconds, then it tells me it's done but if I go look at the folder where I installed it, it's still there. And if I want to run the installation (from the CD's autorun; it's written Install) it starts the uninstall all over again o.O
