Map missing in Ubisofts Heroes III Complete

Unread postby RunningManDK » 24 Jun 2006, 20:33

Hi all, I seem to have stumbled upon a weird incident in Ubisofts re-release of the Heroes III Complete edition.

All who have played the Heroes games for a long time probably has their favorite maps, and so do I. The "Myth and Legend" map in Heroes III is one of my favorite maps.
The thing is that in the Ubisoft complete edition the "Myth and Legend" map is no where to be found, whereas it did appear in the original release of Heroes III by 3DO.

Am I the only one to wonder why this is so? ;)

Not that its a problem for me, but i'm just a bit curious about the fact that they removed the map from the release.

Please reply if you know something about this or even if you yourself have stumbled upon a weird thing in the Heroes series of games. B-)

It doesn't appear to be in the 3DO version either.

It doesn't? I distinctly remember having it on my computer after install, and I don't think I downloaded it from anywhere either.

I think I remember something about it not being in 3DO's H3 Complete. So it's probably not Ubi's fault.

Thanks for your replies all of you.

I don't own the 3DO complete version so i wouldn't know if the map was in there or not, but now it seems that it only appeared in the original release of the game, which is kind of weird.

It is odd that they would take one specific map out of the game in later releases, don't you think? :|

Maybe the greek mythology is copyrighted or something, hehe! :)

Perhaps 3DO got cold feet after seeing that the map contained Greek Gods doing what Greek Gods usually do?

It does seem pretty odd...I'll have to install the original again to check it out..

If I remember, didn't it have a different name in the Heroes III Complete package? but I can't remember what it was. :embarrased:

IIRC, that map was ONLY in the original RoE release. It was not included in SoD either.
It's too bad, since it was one of the best (if not THE best) professional map I ever played. The only 8-player map that was enjoyable to play from EVERY side, because of all the different storylines going on.

Go me. It was in the Millenium Edition release of H3 as well.

(Millenium edition being the 3-pack, H1, H2 + Price of Loyalty, H3)
