This one took longer. I actually had the general idea soon after playing the Sylvan campaign, but something was still missing. Later I was trying to draw Alaron as a tree and I thought to "man, how hard it is to draw a tree that looks humanlike." And then all of a sudden I knew what to draw !

There must be a god for sarcastic  like me.

Hey, that's not Findan! It's some kind of imposter. The real Findan couldn't talk for so long without resorting to (horrid) verse...

It's only a little Haiku. Probably unintended too...

Great, i'm too bored to finish the last Sylvan map, and the next comic will prob just go over my head.

These are pure gems, I tip my hat to you.

It's pretty funny that most of us could probably come up with a better story than that in this commercial game. These comics really underline the ludicricity (I just came up with that, dunno if it's a word) of the 'cast'. Talking about casts, it kind of seems like the story of this game could be a school play of some 12 year olds ...

"The queen's husband dies, but her husband's killer is actually in love with her! ... someone tells her that her husband can be brought back ... she kills droves of her allies to do this! ... but the guy who brought the husband back was evil and now the husband is evil too!! ... Oh and in the end the queen was going to become an evil demon anyway!"

I can't go on - it's too much. Though I believe the funniest thing in the whole of Heroes 5's cunning and clever surprises is the Agrael / Raelag two letter switcharooney! I can see when the team wondered how could they perfectly mask the ex-demon henchman as a dark elf .. then, by a divine intervention someone came up with this, I must say magnificent, idea: "let's move the first two letters in his name and put them in the end! No-one will figure out who he is!!"

Maybe Ubisoft will hire an actual professional storyteller to devise a plot and maybe, just maybe Nival will bother making one or two additional animations ("Oh my god, four hours of extra work?! No Way!" -Nival Representative) for the cut scenes so that they look better than something the guy next door could do by ripping the animations off combat.

You think that's bad; what about the people who've beaten the campaigns and still haven't figured out what he is? :)

I can't possibly understand not knowing who "Raelag" really is. When I saw the opening of the Dungeon campaign, I knew right away. Same mount, same backboard-thing on his saddle, same way of holding the staff, same power-ranger type effects/movements when he talked, and of course, the name.

And if you followed the development of the game, youd notice it in the demo, since he rides a dark elf mount(a lizard).

Or even before that because of the name. Like some people around here did. Then started comparing him with Lord Haart.

[childishness]
And this is the part where I get to stick my tongue out at you and say "I told you so!" :tonguehands:

Lord Haart and Realag aren't even close, Isabel allies with the Necromancers and it's definitely not up to her to save the world! Nanny-nanny-boo-boo!

Yeah, but i don't feel bad because lets face it, my story was way better then the one we got. And Agrael/Raelag has awful tastes in women.

[childishness]
Then again maybe they changed the story after I figured it out.... yeah, that's what i'm going with.
[/childishness]

Still, i did notice on other boards that i'm not the only one that sees the similarities with the H3 story.

Similarities as in a child trying to copy hamlet.

No a child trying to copy Hamlet would be if they tried to do something like H4's death Campaign. RoE's campaign was solid, but there wasn't anything surprising or insightful. Those who see similarities in RoE and H5 are hard-pressed to make it a solid plural. :)

On the other hand, H5's gaping plot holes were fairly absent in H3. Perhaps it would be more adequate to say that those who see similarities between H5's story and H3's also see similarities between H5's manual and H3's. ;)

Well they both use those letter thingys.

In the end the similarities are rather general(female queen, undead king, hero changeing class etc.).
