Fine. I resign myself to negativity and henceforth declare my hatred of all gaming companies. :|

Jeez, my point was more that I'd like to see some positivity from our community! All I've seen in the last month is a news ban, negative starforce press (deserved, maybe, but still negative), rants about DMoMM, and a flurry of anti-ubi cartoons. I understand that each of these may be justified -the news ban to delay release, starforce might be problematic (not for me though), little info has been released on DMoMM, and the cartoons by themselves are tongue-in-cheek and not to be taken too seriously.

My issue is that when you combine these, the atmosphere around the place seems quite negative and/or cynical. For a site that traditionally has been such a stauch supporter of the series, this is a shame. I know that it's been rubbing off on me, since it's the only HoMM site I use. :S

I can sum up in a simple verse:

"It's-a not so bad, It's a nice-a place, shuddup-in-your-face" :P

We support the series and the community, not the companies that are making money off them. Surprisingly, the comics seem to have a soothing effect on its readers: maybe it's just a coincidence, but when the Starforce comic was released, a comic that feature a man smashing a computer monitor with a large hammer, the SF debate was put on hold for a while, and started again only last week. In any case, you are right in saying that the Cranky Hero comics should not be taken seriously.
I'm on Steam and Xbox Live.

Perhaps you're right, the cartoons do seem to provide an outlet for some community tension.

I still like Ubi-val though :P

I think it's a little well deserved irony... and it may just be the most effective way in expressing some of our doubts regarding the developement of the game

Personally, I don't think the Dungeon outfits are as bad as everyone makes them out to be... Granted they might not be as clothed as a bride during a traditional wedding, but they're underground. Every heroes game has lava and such in the below-ground level. I'd probably run around wearing near-nothing too. I mean, think about it. It has to be hot down there. Besides, the horned demons are almost stark, and nobody complains about them :-p

Side-note, I think the power of Dungeon units is pretty handy... They're just more complicated than the rest, but certainly not any worse. It's a pity about luck/empowered spells though... for now

I hate the way they look, not the scarcity of the material. The only explination is that they have awful tastes in fashion.

Well, can't say I liked the way people dressed 50 years ago either.

Well, magic wasn't a big factor in combat 50 years ago either.

Right... magic means wearing stupid crotch protectors.

I love Heroic Heresy. It's a pity there are only two pages though.
