Missed? You cannot miss anything thats game important. All those stuff are just extras that allow you to pass somethings easier.Ethric wrote:That's hardly a marvel; that a part of it is finishable if you missed something. It'll just be harder to do. But i started over, got Dek'kon with me
There is armor,it only differs from character to character.Ignus fights with his bare hands, and morte with his jaw(although there are a few extra ones for him).Ethric wrote: ...no armour? Weird. Why's there weapons, could make do with fists only...
Yeah Dek'kon has his own armour. And sure an extra fighter isn't gameimportant, but he makes the fights easier doncherknow.
But I just think Mr Nameless looks so ugly running around with a loincloth below his potbelly and some spinethingy draped over him. A platemail (if fighter), leather vest (if thief) or robe (for wizard) would have been nice

Who the hell locks these things?

He uses the chest slot for some disguises. And yes, there's no ranged weaponry. I believe two charcters have ranged attacks, but you can't give the others ranged weapons.Ethric wrote:Just thought it odd that he has a chestslot, which isn't used. Morte has his unused slots blocked off.
And another thing: there are no comonly available ranged weaponery?
Dak'kon's armor and weapon will change as he levels up, and perhaps (can't rmemeber) if you get him to open up and tell about his past. It won't change his appearance, but they will get better.

Nordom, the crazy Modron (get it? its in the game) is very useful actually cause IIRC he can have a huge regenaration rate, so it is not most useful when using crossbows, but most useful when the baddies are pounding it instead of Dak'kon or you (and you are pounding them of course).. Besides it was immune to some effects; but still, of course, nothing can beat the sheer personality of Morte. He is easily the most original character in a computer game, a horny flying skull with loads of temper and curses? Just remember: "Women are the reason I became a monk... and the reason I switched back!"...
Torment is probably one of the, if not the greatest game ever made, because it proved to many that games aren't just mindless fragfests and can have brains as well. Its dialogue and themes were very philosophical and contained deep insights to human nature and relations and those who finished very well know that it had the greatest villain of all time.. His words "I can forge planes with my power. I can unmake you!" sent shivers down my spine and I really hesitated to engage him..
While it wasn't the best looking game and that put many people off, as a semi-pro musician I must also include that it had some excellent pieces in its soundtrack.. I remember the piece that played in the Smoldering ...(Cauldron?, the tavern in the city), the piece in the Mortuary and especially credits theme were brilliant.
Torment had few weak points though, aside from the bad timing for everyone was expecting Baldur's Gate 2, and this strange universe wasn't appealing for most.. Also, towards the end, the Nameless One got nearly nigh-on invulnerable, and the game somewhat turned into a hack and slash; and you could have a cookie cutter group with Vhailor(?), Dak'kon, Morte, Nordom/Ignus and Fall From Grace and cut all the cookies the game can throw, but these are minor powergaming issues. It remains a top dog in my book, one that I'd love to have a sequel of...

Torment; greatest game ever indeed. I must have finished it a dozen times or more, exploring every single ending and possibility...
Dak'kon's weapon increases in power every time he gains a revelation of some sort through dialogue with you...the game will tell you (Dak'kon's blade shifts...) Check his blade after you see that line, and you get to upgrade it.
Even Morte can get better teeth which can be changed at any time to deal different type of damage (Slicing, crushing or magic)
Nordom can get some insanely powerful arrows if you talk to him enough until he figures out how to make his own magical-shafted arrows...
No armor is available for The Nameless One (TNO) besides tattoos, and the chest slot isn't useless, you use it to put on disguises, so they wouldn't block it off. Not that you really need armor anyway. The game doesn't end if you die; you can't die. Not permanently at any rate. Not until the end.
To fully enjoy the game, you need a very high Int/Wis/Cha, so you can explore every single dialogue option in the game...that's where it's true beauty lies.
IIRC, there are only 3 unavoidable fights in the entire game=)
For everything else, you actually get more XP for talking your way through than fighting!

Actually you can at two or three occasions. One is if you piss off blade mistress and she comes for you and I think one is when you fight the hag.UnDefiler wrote:No armor is available for The Nameless One (TNO) besides tattoos, and the chest slot isn't useless, you use it to put on disguises, so they wouldn't block it off.
